You know, after seeing this game, I really do think it's time for a new Monday Night Combat.

It'll be interesting to see what the art-style looks like when it's actually completed, since I assume they actually have to create a bunch of stuff from scratch for it instead of using pre-fabs off the Unreal asset store. Greyboxing doesn't really bother me, though, since I totally understand that you need to test layouts before spending a ton of time creating art assets that might not end up getting used.

The "Prize Rooms" seem to be a interesting idea. If you can hold a fixed area for a bit, you get rewarded with a ton of loot. I wonder if some sort of notification system like noises or sirens going off (or marking them on the map) when someone's trying to open one might help make them more risky and draw players together more?

Bought this on sale on Steam a while ago and couldn't get into it. It just doesn't communicate enough. Found myself constantly running out of ammo, didn't like the feel of it in general.

Was bummed because I do love the genre, and the style is incredible.

You know the backpack thing you start with?

It straight-up gives you a ammo refill on a fairly short cool-down when you hit B (or whatever the equivalent on the Steam version is) to activate it.

Wellp, the train doesn't stop there. Metroid: Samus Returns on the 3DS as well.

Anyone know how they fixed their connection problems? I didn't manage to play any of this testfire because I couldn't connect. :(

Not sure on this specific case, but what I've seen work most often is restarting the Switch by holding down the power button.

Personally, I'm okay with the price, since the portability means I'm probably going to actually use the console. Unlike the lump of disappointing garbage that is the PS4 that is just collecting dust due to the lack of games.

Apparently their DOOM nostalgia is too strong and DOOM is a top 3 contender in every category, like clearly it should of been mentioned in the "hottest mess" with all that gore. Its also super annoying that the argument for DOOM, is its fucking DOOM.

While the *correct* Hottest Mess won it, I do think DOOM could've made a decent run for Hottest Mess if just because of how terrible the patching situation was around it. How they set up the maps was crazy, forcing people to constantly re-download a gig per map due to all the map's content/models/textures also being compacted into the map file was nuts.

EDIT: And I'll throw this out there... I totally respect Battleborn more than Overwatch. At least it tried to do something original, and they're at least doing fairly substantial updates to it. Overwatch is just... bog-standard and boring.

Well, that's one way to try to redeem 2016.

Personally, I'm a fan of the length of these last two Mario Parties. Since the game doesn't drag on, you don't have Monopoly Syndrome where you already know who's going to win but you're just going through the motions to close it out. Also, mini-games not being guaranteed to fire every turn helps a TON.

A option for longer rounds wouldn't hurt, though. Maybe have it go by laps instead of turns? So, using the board they played on this time, instead of a final boss when they get to the end the first time there'd be another mini-boss, and then afterwards it'd take you back to the start space and you'd go again.

There definitely *is* a lot of chance and opportunities for people to screw with each other, you just have to use the dice blocks more. Like, say, that one turn where Drew was sitting in front of a negative star space, he could've at least tried to use the 0-1 block and hope for the 0 so someone else would have to go through it.

Personally, having more choice is always a good thing.

Being able to play a game in portable mode at work on breaks and then, when I get home, continue playing the same game on the TV? Or where ever I want? Heck yeah, I'm in.
