One the other hand their salary is perfectly reasonable from an economic perspective. Elite fotballers are an important and high demand commodity in a business where success is linked to huge profits. Same exact thing with A-list movie stars. They're simply paid what they're worth to that industry.

@hollitz: Based on the list of countries with delays, I'd say translation issues are more likely. Practically all of them have some native language that is not covered by the languages in the list of countries getting the console in November.

@troll93: I would maybe edit the OP so the prices in local currency for countries not using dollars doesn't use the dollar sign. Using official currency abbreviations like USD for US dollars and SEK for Swedish kronor would make the list a lot more readable. Just a tip.

PS: For Norway, the cheapest online price listed was 3700 NOK, which translates to 639 USD.

@mushir: Yeah, some online Norwegian retailers are taking preorders at an estimated price of over 1000 $ (5999 NOK) before the announcement, so I expect the final launch price to be about 870 $ (4999 NOK).

Unfortunately not generally true. In certain countries yes, but e.g. Norway has really expensive beer prices, even compared to the US.

People saying Europeans should be angry for getting screwed by pricing clearly aren't from Europe. I'm from Norway. 1 USD is worth approximately 6 NOK (Norwegian currency), but we're still used to multiply the US price by 10 to get the amount we will pay in NOK. The PS3 was the equivalent of 1000 USD when it came out here.

It's pretty amazing in my opinion, and reading the pitchfork article on the creation and thought process behind the album just increased the respect I have for it. The variety and joy of music that comes through is fantastic, and the album seems to get better with each listen. It's also the first album in a long time where I have little interest in discussing individual songs. This because the album is much greater than the sum of its parts. E.g. I didn't really enjoy Get Lucky that much as a single, but as a progression in the album with the new intro, it's great. .

I'm in. I have already been using fitocracy for a while now.
