The story in Starcraft 2 was predictable, boring and juvenile. The only thing I can remember was how stale the dialogue was and how they managed to turn the Terran into a bunch of rednecks.

And the villains, mengsk and kerrigan were toned down a great deal. They seem generic and shallow now.

About 4 hours in.

In the front:

Human fighter - focus on swords and athletics with some armor points just for the light armor penalty to go away.

Minotaur fighter - focus on maces and armor (my tanker)

In the back:

Human rogue - focus on missile at first but couldn't find a bow, found a sling but no ammo. So I put points in throw which has been working out great.

Insectoid wizard - focus on ice, earth and spellcraft. In the first two levels he was totally useless, but later on the AOE spells are amazing.

The game has been awesome so far. I'm already thinking about my next party combination for a second playthrough.

No.
Despite my enormous amount of excitement for this game, a real release date has yet to be announced.
I rather buy games that are coming out soon rather than waiting x number of months.

  1. Fewer vents would be nice.
  2. More augs for combat.
  3. Get rid of the stupid battery system.
  4. Less emphasis on hacking.
  5. Better inventory system, or get rid of the current one entirely
  6. The decisions made along the way didn't contribute anything to the ending. I would have preferred if the ending was chosen based on the decisions made throughout the game.
  7. Better characters.
  8. A longer game.

I had just gotten into the idea of podcasts and was looking for something new to listen to. Being a gamer I found 'arrow pointing down' as the most popular podcast on iTunes for gaming at the time. Since than, I've been hooked on the giantbomb crew.

@pyrodactyl:

Its his opinion and during the podcast, I rather hear his opinion rather than his objective criticism of the game. Hell he gave the game 4 stars despite all the misgivings he keeps touting about I think that makes his review pretty damn objective. Listening to the quick look alone you'd reckon the game would have gotten 3 stars at best.

The people who like ME3 are getting much too defensive. Its as if, having a low opinion (or lower than public consensus) is an incorrect fact, as if liking any type of entertainment is a form of science and not conforming to that means that you're wrong and need to shut up. In case you haven't noticed, every piece of content from giantbomb staff members is swimming it their personal opinions and that's what makes this site so special and personal.

They've talked shit about games I liked before and I appreciate that because I like hear the giantbomb opinion, no matter how much I disagree with it because its a different and unique perspective that I find interesting and if they do share the same as opinion as I do well damn, hip hip hooray.

My gripe with this thread is that the fans of ME3 have this tenacious defensive position on this game. They don't take criticism well and they eat every bite of shit EA excretes. I've read posts that people would buy DLC for a better ending and that is just sad, sickening and frustrating.

my guess is Diablo 3. what do you think

I doubt it. There are some things to hate about D3 like the inability to play offline or the auction house, but its been so long since all these things have been announced I think most people have already accepted it.

My money is on Hitman: Absolution.

My biggest problem with DLC is the pricing. The content never justifies the price, in the case of ME3, it's $10 for a squad mate, a weapon, a costume and being able revisit Eden Prime. No matter how integral these things maybe I still don't think the content justifies the price.

All this DLC shit makes me wish expansion packs were still a thing. Some of the best games came into fruition due to expansion packs, a few that come to my mind were broodwar and Lord of Destruction. But, I guess expansion packs have disappeared to make way for console gaming.
