Not sure if this is kosher here, but I have a JS script I use in conjunction with Tampermonkey (allows you to run custom user scripts on websites) which I've found to be pretty handy when listening to podcasts on the web player, and I wanted to share it with you all.

Currently it does two things: allows the player to be focused, with `tab` or with the mouse; then, when the player is focused, you can use the left and right arrow keys to skip forward and back in 15 second increments. I'm planning additional enhancements similar to those found on the video player (resume from position, etc). Any suggestions?

Unless I'm mistaken, the web player doesn't currently allow for this functionality when playing podcasts, so I figured I'd add it in myself.

Apologies if this is verboten or otherwise doomed to deletion. If not, great! I hope someone gets some enjoyment out of it :)

Long time GB subscriber, first time soliciting this wonderful community. At 10AM EST today, three friends and I are participating in our third Extra Life charity marathon, and you’re invited! It’s a little late due to scheduling conflicts, but we’ve put a lot of work into making this stream awesome, so I hope you’ll come by and donate!

Last year, our donation goal was a modest $250 and we ended up raising just over $500, which was awesome. Buoyed by last year’s success, we’re going all out this year and aiming for $1000.

Here’s where it gets interesting: if we hit that goal, I’ll participate in a 5 5K challenge in 2017! I’ve never done a 5K before, but I’ll do 5 of them if we can manage to raise $1000.

So at 10AM EST (15 minutes from now), three friends and I will start streaming live from my Twitch channel. Over the course of 24 hours, we’ll play a veritable cornucopia of video games from past and present, while slowly descending into sleep-deprived hysteria, all in the name of charity! While we stream, we’ll be plugging my Extra Life donation page, and reading off donations live as they come in.

I'm dying, this is amazing. I know everyone at GB is having a good time right now :)

There's something nice about refreshing my podcast app just as I'm about to leave work, seeing it's been posted, downloading it as I walk to the train, and enjoying it on my one hour train ride home. Fingers crossed that happens again today!

@the_nubster: Sorry, I misunderstood. Despite what jokes he might crack, Vinny does steer the ship, does he not?

@the_nubster: Nonono... just general chat moderator. I appreciate that everyone has their qualms. But I think with a sizable staff of chat moderators, we could definitely have our own little GB oasis.

@dudeglove: You're definitely not wrong. What is the current mod staff like? What is the process like for community moderator applications? I don't want a 24/7 GB channel for sure. That feels a bit too automated and stale. I want an archived stream immediately post UPF to carry the torch. A golden oldie. Something to rally around. GB has such a beautiful archive of content that not utilizing it seems a travesty. Of course, you have to remember that most of the staff has been around since the beginning and don't necessarily reflect upon these moments similarly. Bah, who knows.

@csl316 I love the idea, but my worry is that Vinny has become a bit tired of his reputation as "fucker up of limitations". He'll always be a goofball, but he's adapted quite well to the moderator role on the Beastcast. Also, Project BEAST is essentially him in a sandbox.

I believe the power of GB comes in numbers. Vinny streaming Fallout... eh... but Vinny streaming Fallout with Austin and Alex? That's a stream. We don't subscribe to GB for solo streams. We subscribe to GB for those beautiful interactions between veterans of the industry.

Also, Flight Club... should be a thing again. Drew should be the only permitted solo streamer.

Also x2, Jason is fucking amazing. He has vigor and spunk, despite the drain of children and life. Godspeed Jason, I love you.
