LittleBIGPlanet : Why Am I Still Not Convinced?

I think I must have a heart of stone. This game is cute, incredibly so. It has most of the enthusiast press bursting with anticipation. Sony is holding it up as a system seller.

Yet I'm still struggling. Yeah, it looks good and the potential for user-generated content is massive. But there are niggling doubts that it's all just a case of style over substance. 

I think it's going to be one of those titles that won't make sense until I get it in my hands and start playing it. 

Until then, the jury's still out.

I think the problem is the way its being marketed. The only thing that gets talked about is the creation part without much coverage of the actual pre-made levels that will ship on the disc. It's almost being sold more as a tool than a game, so if you don't feel like you'd want to build levels, you might not be as excited for the title as all the websites seem to be. I think it has huge potential though and if they are able to weed out the good user created stuff from the juvenile, LBP could be great.
