Listen, I adore Bioware. And Mass Effect is my current favourite series. Been following this series since the initial trailer debut of the first title. For me, there is no competition.
Loved the 'page-turning' quality of character interaction. Very gripping. And the action was also a treat between these emotionally-charged scenes.
Contains the most memorable 8-minute experience of 2010, by far. No spoilers needed, but easily the most flawless narrative experience of the year.
An emotional, atmospherical roller coaster. It doesn't stop until the very end, with a leap, a whirl, and the final bit of light at the end of the tunnel. When you hit that point, you take a long gasp of air and smile. A smile for the creative perfection glowing from this game, and a smile for the satisfying conclusion to a great journey you just ended.
So mindmeltingly great, I had to make up a word to describe it. Most memorable 8-hour experience of 2010, by far.
If Mindcraft had a slash-played (/played), I'd probably cry.
World of Warcraft unfortunately has a slash-played (/played), and that number makes me cry with shame. Wonderful experience that deserves to be called a fully-fledged 'game.'
I miss the feeling of a creative, new Zelda experience. Recent entries in the series have, arguably, just given me a taste of that feeling. With a ton of 'fan-servicey' sides. And then there was Darksiders. One word: yay!
Probably my most recent addition to this mental list. Finished it only a few hours ago. Perhaps a tad too fresh to move it any higher, but I loves me some Assassin's Creed. Great multiplayer, wonderful singleplayer story. Can't say I'm a fan of the ending--but they've done this to me twice before now. Oh well, still fantastic.
Dude, it's Starcraft.
