Ok sure this blog may be just for the last quest in the set but I think that this new feature is doing more than feeding the achievement whores. While going about the the Flash in the Pan quest, I ran across tons of old gaming consoles that I had no idea existed. I thought by playing the Atari 2600, I had hit the old of the old school (I'm sure that makes no sense) but there are a lot of systems I had never heard of.
Take the Sega SG-1000 or the Arcadia 2001 for example, I'm sure a good number of the Giant Bomb community has never heard of those and we are supposedly the hardcore gamers. I guess what I'm trying to say is that as much as this quest thing may be just a game, it also allows us to see the expanse of the Giant Bomb wiki and see more of what this site has to offer.
Of course I buy downloadable games and how can you not with gems such as Shadow Complex, Splosion Man and Castle Crashers on XBLA and Shatter and Wipeout HD on the PSN. Plus the added convinience of just buying something from your couch when your bored is great. Some of these games can even rival full retail releases.
