I'm sure many of you have seen or heard many games that received numerous game of the year awards, included in several nominations and voted by fans to be the best of the best, but for some reason, you've never played them before so what are they? Here are some games that I've never ever played before in my life:
(P/S: Please ignore some of the underlines below. They're glitches and I'm not sure how to get rid of them.)
I grew up with Nintendo but for whatever reason, out of all the games Nintendo has provided us over the years, I never touched a Legend of Zelda game before and this is one of them. It still puzzles me as to why I missed such a great big series when growing up. I guess it's because Mario, Donkey Kong and Metroid looked a lot more fun than Zelda. Can't really say why. Just in recent years did I get to play the Legend of Zelda: A Link to The Past on the Game Boy Advance and began to take interest from then on. The other reason was probably because after the Super Nintendo era, I sort of stopped playing games for a few years and by the time I started playing them, I went to the Gamecube era and missed the Nintendo 64 and Dreamcast era entirely so that was why I missed playing Ocarina of Time.
It's been called the best Zelda game ever made, which makes me pissed. I can't believe I missed such a great game when it was first released. I could play it right now but the impact wouldn't be the same, so for now I'll just read the infamous Legend of Zelda timeline theory, which I heard it's very VERY confusing.
2. Castlevania Like I mentioned earlier in my previous post at the forums, I've never touched a Castlevania game before so if I would to dive into the series right now, I'd be totally lost in terms of learning its storyline and characters. Poor me.
3. Goldeneye 007 Like I said before, I missed the Nintendo 64 era and instead skipped to the other consoles like the PlayStation and Gamecube, so to hear people talking about it and you can't relate to their praises, that's just not cool. There's a new Goldeneye coming out for the Wii but I doubt it'll be the same experience.
4. Sonic The Hedgehog Never own a Sega console and never played a Sonic game before. I've no regrets.
5. Mega Man It's embarrassing to miss such a great franchise from Capcom but what can you do?
6. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider I admit: I love video game chicks and games that have chicks in them but as to why Lara Croft: Tomb Raider is never in my list, I have no idea. Maybe it's because the concept of seeing a tom boy with guns shooting wild animals and going to countless tombs endlessly searching for some old treasures is not my idea of fun.
This is perhaps the only series in this list that I have a choice to play but I choose not to. I'm not a big fan of sandbox games. I don't like games that gives you too much freedom and a choice to explore areas and the people around you. Sure, it's fun blasting pedestrians with big guns, ramming them with a car and scare them with your big money but they never appealed to me. I like my games to be straightforward: just kill the bad guys, complete a level and move on.
8. Battlefield Not much to say except that when this game came out, so was Counter-Strike (roughly) and when it did, I just sticked with Counter-Strike and didn't bother with Battlefield at all.
9. Ultima I'm not a big fan of RPG so is there anything for me to say about Ultima? No. However, I've heard that some of them are pretty good like Ultima V so maybe I'll pick that one up some day.
I have a whole lot more but let's just keep it at minimum. So there you have it. A big list that I'm not quite proud of. What big titles haven't you played before?

Half-Life 1 & 2. I never owned a gaming-ready PC and I use a Macbook these days so I missed out on the whole Half Life craze. I'm tempted to pick up the Orange Box for PS3 but I've heard so many mixed things about that version. But really, there's so many big games I've never played- I've never played a Final Fantasy game but that's because I have no interest in that genre.
Half Life series, Haven't played a single NES/SNES game, either. Never played any CoD game...err the Deus Ex games annd one day and while kind of early...Starcraft 2.
The ones I actually care that I missed include: Half-Life series, completing PS2 era GTA's, and the Metal Gear series...somewhat because I have MGS4 but there is quite a wall to climb to get into that game.
@Psykhophear: YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO GAMING!!! I'm kidding, but seriously though you have to at least go back and play Ocarina of Time, Mega Man, Sonic, and GTA. Honestly though, if there was one game I could forget and replay over and over it would be Ocarina of Time. That games is just simply amazing. I still make a note of going back and playing it once a year.I would say Castlevania too, but if you have played a Metroid game, you have played a Castlevania game. Goldeneye is simply one you cant go back to, and Battlefield hasnt changed terribly much since the old days. The last thing I will say is I dont think Tomb Raider belongs on that list, I wouldnt really consider them that great of games.
I have never played Final Fantasy VI, and after all these years I am wondering if I should even go back. Oh yeah, I still havent gotten around to playing Wind Waker or Twilight Princess. Oh yeah, never played a Warcraft game, except of course WOW. Also Also, never played Half Life One. Mainly all old stuff. I have kept up with mainly everything for the past 5 years or so.
None that i actually care about. Their are some games i wish i'd played when they'd just come out, such as Metal Gear Solid, so i'd get the same experience as everyone else.
Halo. I never played them, I just can't say I like space lazers and aliens. Same with Mass Effect 1 and 2. I know there hugely popular, but I really really dont dig sci-fi, although I loved Dragon Age.

Sniff! I know How could I've not played Ocarina of Time yet? At least I've tried A Link To The Past so it's not that bad. The only FInal Fantasy games I'm familiar with is FF VII and VIII but sadly, I haven't finished any of them. Guess RPG isn't my strong suit.
" @Jeust: lucky. i don't have the money to buy them right now, but i really want them :( it's a shame that the fourth one isn't in NA "
If you find any one of the games in the franchise and you have the money for it, buy it and give it a play. It's an interesting game, but the gameplay, at least for me, is off-putting.
Everything liked in the Final Fantasy series except for FFX
God of War series
Mega Man series (with the exception of the 1st Battle Network game)
Devil May Cry series
Metal Gear Solid 4
Grand Theft Auto series (played very casually for a few minutes at a time)
I could go on, but I won't. I want to play every single game/series I listed, but the reasons I have not is because I'm (too) young and I don't have any money. Without those limitations, those games would have been finished by me.
Okami, Shadow of the Colossus are ones I'd like to play but haven't and all Zelda games Starcraft games and World of Warcraft I haven't and not interested in.
" I've never played Shadow of the Colossus. But after playing Ico, I kind of doubt it's as good as people say. "
It is good, but yeah, nowhere near as good as people say. The game just suffers from severe repetition and frame-rate issues, the music is good though ;) Hmmm...I've never played a Resident Evil game, Chrono Trigger, any Ultima game , and no Fatal Frame games.
@snakeitachi: That's a good start. Just stick with the original Silent Hill 1 ,2, 3 and 4: The Room. Don't bother with the other ones because they were not developed by the original Team Silent members (except for legendary composer Akira Yamaoka. I totally dig his Silent Hill music). @Dysnomia: Whoa, no way. You must play a Metal Gear Solid game. Best start with the first one on the PS1 if you have a chance.
I too have not played any Uncharted games. Must find the time to play with them.
