Great Games I Didn't Enjoy

These are the games that people have praised many times but for some reason, I don't like 'em. I hope you won't be offended by them. I value other people's interests and views so appreciate if you can do the same to me too.

Disclaimer: The "More Like" shtick is mainly for lols. Please don't take it seriously!

Arranged not in any order.

  • Gone Home? More like: Gone Wrong!

I really thought this was a horror game but boy was I wrong. Although I do appreciate the level design and aesthetics of the game but the plot itself is super dull and it's something I can't relate to in any way. I still don't understand the appeal of Gone Home.

  • Virtue's Last Reward? More like: Voodoo Lame Retard!

This is one instance where I should've read the reviews first; I bought it on the spot without thinking twice and I instantly regretted buying it. Zero Escape has a wall of text with very little interaction. A very misleading cover and title in my opinion.

  • Psychonauts? More like: Psychodorks!

The only Tim Schafer game I didn't enjoy for several reasons. The main issue is the camera system. Every time I play it, I get motion sickness even though I tried tweaking it to suit my playing. Also, the game design as a whole is not well structured. Collecting figments is boring, the fighting mechanic is a bore, and running around the campsite is not fun.

  • Skyrim? More like: Skrotum!

I used to be a fantasy buff but not anymore. I just don't appreciate dragons, magic and knights as much as others. Yes, that also means I'm not a Game of Thrones fan. Anyway, I loved Fallout 3 and I thought I'd feel the same way for Skyrim but apparently not. The fantasy world is just not for me. I'll stick to Fallout.

  • Prey? More like: Plegh!

I freakin' loved the original 2006 Prey. It's got aliens, upside down platforms and a badass cherokee protagonist. The new reboot is completely mediocre and generic. After playing it for a few hours, I immediately asked for a refund on Steam. As much as I love the look and feel of the game, the attack mechanics feel disjointed and not responsive. It's not my controls, it's the game. Sorry, Arcane Studios. Just stick to making Dishonored games.

  • Guns of The Patriots? More like: Game for the Pussies!

The only Kojima-direct game I didn't like. As much as I love the Metal Gear series, Guns of the Patriots is like reading a thick boring encyclopedia. Kojima cramped in too many things in the game that it literally put me to sleep. I normally enjoy watching Metal Gear cutscenes but this one is a complete snoozeville!
