Happy to not only see Prisoner of Ice on here, but see it on the top of the list! It's been a good 20 years since I last played it, but some scenes have been sticking with me, and it's up there with my favorite adventure games, and it's got a personality to it that feel pretty distinct from the Sierra or LucasArts (or later Myst and Telltale) style adventure games. Unavowed is the only other adventure game I can think of that has really felt similar both in tone and the way it handles character interactions.

@fisk0: Prisoner of Ice means a lot to me. Not only was it the first horror game I ever played but it also introduced me to the Cthulhu Mythos. The game may not be perfect in a lot of ways but it doesn't matter, POI will always have a special place in my heart.

The game is available on GOG and Steam. I recommend you revisit it whenever you can.
