My 2011 Favorite Games

  • Despite the unfortunate technical problems, and I've had my share, Skyrim is absolutely amazing. It's a game you can go back and play off and on for years and years. Feels like a preview of what we'll get in the future of open world rpgs. Note to Bethesda: Stop being so cheap and buy a new powerhouse engine already.

  • Super fun 3rd person shooting w/some awesome set pieces. It looked amazing also. Additional playthroughs are a pure pleasure, and that stands out to me. Can't get enough sci-fi done this well.

  • Best racing game I've ever played, and I've played a ton, including every previous Forza game. The competitor AI is incredible on the higher diffs and takes the racing to a whole 'nother uber satisfying level.

  • This game has some silly, still unfixed issues(busted squad feature...come on DICE!), but overall, it's the best competitve mp going easily, while completely assaulting your senses visually and aurally. Every night I see something that makes me pause and marvel at the organic action.

  • Very polished, very fun campaign that introduces the famous 40K lore in an amount that everyone can get into. Very nice mix of viseral melee and great shooting. Multiplayer needs work, but these devs are great and will get it right in future installments; which better damn happen, and while you're at it Relic, make a Dawn of War for 360!:)

  • What a great game. Such a unique experience these days. Frustrating, but at the same time so satisfying to play. Bethesda needs to take some notes from DS on how to do melee combat.

  • They killed Dom!! WTF?? Great game with so much awesome content. Epic made Horde mode better by a lot. Versus mp is much fairer and better as well. Dedicated servers and the matchmaking works out so much better. So many options are available on both too, and make it work for every player and situation I can imagine. Best co-op available this year by a mile.

  • This is for the 2011 DLC Old World Blues. Super funny and imaginative DLC that connects the Vegas story nicely. Only adds to the already tremendous overall Fallout: New Vegas experience, Black Isle style.

  • This is for the new tables this year, many of which are just really well done and a ton of fun. Paranormal, Ghost Rider, Moonlight, and X-men to name four of about ten that came out as DLC this year. Can't ever stop playing the pin of ball:).
