They probably aren't that showy with it, because they want to hype up 13-2. They would just be competing against themselves. I bet all my money that it will be at e3, and will release in late 2012 and in NA/Eur early 2013.
You're right though, they spread themselves way too thin. Their management seems pretty bad.
Disabling it in-game seems fine, but disabling party chat is a mistake. Not hearing some stranger jumping into your game and spout shit is good, but if you want to talk a friend there are a hundred different ways. Might as well make it easier rather than harder.
Dead Island for RPG-y longevity or Resistance for MP shooter longevity. If you're broke buying something that you'll be finished with in a week seems like a waste.
People who pay $180 a year to play MMOs. On top of buying the game and every expansion. It just seems like there is no way that the server end of things has that kind of cost per person. Tell me if I'm wrong, but it seems really high.
