In thinking about it more, I think my main problem with looking at this, and thinking about Man of Steel, is that no one seems likeable. Everyone just seems miserable, and kind of an a-hole. Like in Man of Steel, where Pa Kent gives Clark TERRIBLE advice, especially like in the tornado scene. Just awful. I came away from it not caring about any of them. And now, they just seem like hyper-depressed versions of themselves. I get that they want to take it seriously and everything, but at least in the Nolan movies Batman/Bruce Wayne had some decent quips in there, or just some lighter moments that made him seem like at least a bit of an okay guy.

As someone who has harshly mixed feelings on Man of Steel, this looks like it will be no different. Can't say I'm very excited.

@believer258: I'm not going to try and start an argument or anything like that, so don't take anything I say as hostile. I completely respect yours and others feelings on the matter. I'm merely just discussing this from my perspective. Anyway, while in some cases I will say that you are correct, these are more straightforward cases of being a movie, I don't think that's the case with all of them. Now, I'm going to guess you probably haven't checked any of them out, so I'll go on as such. As an example, the first Resident Evil thing I have up is a blend of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, The Darkside Chronicles, Operation Raccoon City, and Outbreak. Watching them all blended together as they are is not a way that you can experience those games when just playing them. In terms of copyright, every single one of these have bits of gameplay in them, my gameplay, which is used to bridge together scenes and such, which does make this something that has my own personal touch on it. That's also not counting the special things that I put in, like the added music, intros, or what have you to certain projects. Honestly, I don't think any of them is a case of being able to experience it like that within the game. In something like The Last of Us, even with the cutscene viewer in the game, that is not an experience you're going to get. The story will be missing chunks, it won't make a ton of sense, and you'll only have the most important cutscenes, not the ones that occur more within the gameplay frame.

I get what you're saying about thousands of people watching this and never playing the games and so on, but I think that might be a bit of a stretch. One, I don't think I'm going to get anywhere near that many views. This is the only place I've mentioned it, and that's where it ends. This is the only community I'm a part of, so I thought I might as well talk about it on my blog. If I accidentally made this a topic too, I apologize. I haven't made many blogs, kind of unfamiliar with it, so I thought the boards would just have a link to my blog. My bad if I screwed that up. Two, I don't think that many people who have never played any of these games will really want to experience it this way. To the ends of "why don't I just watch a movie", you're right, most would just rather play the game. This is more designed for people to look at games that they may already be familiar with in a different light. It's very different playing a 15 hour playthrough of The Last of Us, and experiencing a little over two hour version.

And to answer that question myself, I like doing this because there are some great stories within the video game medium. I'm not just slapping stuff together in a Frankenstein fashion, like a lot of people on Youtube. This isn't a case of, "I'm taking all of the cutscenes, putting them in sequential order, and then uploading them", but is me trying to make them natural cuts, blend the gameplay and cutscenes together, make fundamental changes to certain details(I'm only vague about that because it changes depending on the project) in order to tell the core story of the game in the smoothest manner possible so that it is highlighted above all else.

WOW that was a lot of words. I've gotten everything out that I wanted to say. If you don't agree with me, that's totally cool. I'm not going to drag this out any further than it already has. But, at the very least, I hope that my explanation has at least convinced you that I'm not a total monster. :)

Also, as kind of an olive branch(not that it's much), I'm going to start including Amazon links to the games in the descriptions of the videos.

@believer258: That's understandable. In the case of my videos, as well as many others, when Youtube detects that it contains copyrighted material, that means that I can't monetize, but the other companies can, leading to ads in front of the videos. I will say in advance that this is absolutely a case where you won't see every single cutscene of a game in these videos, leading the games to having an advantage. I cut out certain scenes for pacing and some odd. Any of the games in that list are missing scenes and segments, things that might be repetitive or unnecessary in the frame of just telling a narrative story. In order to get the full representation of the game, such as seeing every level and every single bit of it, these videos aren't going to give you that. They are purely to see a tighter version of the story that games portray. But, again, I can totally understand your position, and I agree, these games should be supported. I happily own every single one of them.

@shaunk: Thanks! Hopefully you'll see something a little different here than with some of the stuff online. I really strive to make it as smooth as possible.

Man, I can't help but freakin' love FFVIII. It's just so nuts in where all it goes. Much more entertaining than most of the FFs.

Christian. In terms of denomination, I go more for Southern Baptist. It's a very important part of my life, if not the most important.

Too Human, Gears of War: Judgment and Destiny immediately popped into mind, ESPECIALLY Too Human. There's probably more that I'm forgetting, though.

If there is no campaign, I am completely out. Same with Stars Wars: Battlefront. I hate MP-only games, they just feel so shallow.
