I'm really surprised I'm in the minority here! I came up with that idea while playing Super Mario World as a kid - I had never seen the movie. Didn't actually see that until I was a bit older. I guess we all have our opinions on Mario.

Also worth noting - Mario collects a lot of different stuff in this game. I've seen rings, triangles, and nuts and bolts so far.

This is the only truly relevant statement regarding GB GOTY. It's silly fun.

I don't have much to add to your analysis of TMS#FE but I wanted to drop in and praise you for what I find to be a really great write up of this game that isn't receiving as much recognition as I feel it should. As you mentioned, it's audience is really limited due to extenuating circumstance, but it's also on my top ten and I'm just heartened to see it getting talked about again.

Probably something on the Switch if I had to guess. Persona 5 is definitely on my radar early next year as well, and Re7 and Gravity Rush 2 are also probably on the buy list, provided they turn out well.

Metal Man has the easiest stage, is one of the easiest bosses, and gives the best weapon in the game. Why would you start anywhere else?

You guys should head back to Aether Paradise and talk to Wicke, the extra backstory about Lusamine is really interesting and makes her a better villain.

Well, you could have caught a Psyduck before the fire trial, so it's not really that much of a game-breaking thing. Sure, you could trade for a really high level Pokémon and use it, but it's kind of up to you. I wound up playing this game with the EXP. Share off and didn't use any traded Pokémon until after the game ended. It's always been easy to get a high level Pokémon from a friend and trivialize the game, though.
