This bugs me, but I'm not entirely sure I can explain why. This seems like gross mismanagement, which is weird considering how much more money they got than was asked for. I don't really understand the idea of "oh this happens to game development all the time" because this is not a normal game development process, and to think otherwise seems ignorant.

Also very interested in anything XCOM-y, but surely "tactical strategy" is a bit redundant?

I don't think even Microsoft is stupid enough to think that compares to PS+, and that's why I disagree that it's designed as a direct response to the Instant Game Collection. I think it's throwing a bone to current Gold subs who are starting to wonder where their free games are, but my guess is they haven't seen enough of a drop off overall to go full bore. Nobody could be dense enough to think this competes.

Yeah, they have some neat ideas and we could see some cool features, and yeah a lot of people will play online - but it was the "our way or the highway" delivery that pissed me off the most.

Pop quiz: Microsoft was not able to respond to feedback until after E3 because:

a) They had their fingers in their ears screaming at the top of their lungs

b) They were actually shocked at what they were seeing

c) They really believed "GAMES GAMES GAMES" would sway public opinion

d) all of the above

@darson: Serious question: why? It doesn't seem to have any bearing on the gameplay unless you want it to. With the right ideas, it could make for some really neat immersion away from your console.

As I mentioned on the trailer post, I don't think the words "Mirror's Edge 2" were said or displayed anywhere, whatever that implies.

The Peggle 2 run-by announcement was hilarious - that guy jumped in the air like he wanted to be freeze framed.

I thought it was an excellent showcase for their games (missed the last 10 minutes or so), lots of actual gameplay shown which is always nice. But even at $200 it doesn't make me forget their plans for its connectivity and DRM.

And was it me, or did Sunset Overdrive look a lot more like Overstrike than Fuse did?

Edit - WTF @ Assassin's Creed 2! There have been 3 AC games since then...this is the best they can do to counter PS+??

@icicle7x3: That is a really good point. It wasn't like the characters just stopped talking in those rooms.

I will always love Defenders of Oasis. For a really long time, it was the only RPG I beat after Final Fantasy. Now I have to get a 3DS XL next year sometime; it's possible my Game Gear and games are still at my parents' house but who knows?
