It seems like the old options of Mobile (700kbps), Low (1000kbps), Medium (1800kbps), etc were replaced with Mobile (1000kbps), Low (1800kbps), Medium (2500kbps)... it's been actually changing and somewhat random on recent videos, some of the bitrate setting gaps have been ignored entirely. I've had to check the filename to download the right one for my bandwidth instead of relying on the labels, and sometimes spend a lot more time waiting to watch.

@rorie: Yep! It started working several days afterwards. Usually everything works the first time. Thanks for checking, this can probably be locked or whatever now.

Still broken. I looked for a button or link on the video page to report an issue with it directly, but couldn't find one. I guess this is the best way to let them know?

I also almost exclusively download. The only case I don't is watching a show live.

@billyok: Completely agreed. What's more, I don't understand how someone who's been so visible for so long, and who has probably had a lot of contact with the gaming public, is surprised when something like this happens, and reacts so indignantly.

@akeldama: Seriously. Bloodborne is a new IP, Tomb Raider has been on multiple platforms forever. No idea how people don't get that locking up a previously multi-platform release on a single struggling console is a bad idea. It just makes me dislike the arrangement and those who made it.

@steveurkel: Wow, yeah. If this is what Wolfenstein is like 22 years later, I can't imagine what Blake Stone could be. We'll soon see Doom (4)!

To hit closer to your intended note, I appreciate the question being asked even though there really is only one correct PR answer, "we're passionate about the series." Hopefully the response is a bit more detailed so we can get a better idea of their motivation and early creative process. They could say they're creatively bankrupt so they decided to try to hold onto the coattails of a revered franchise, but that doesn't seem to be the case with MachineGames anyway.

Digital only. A 1TB hybrid SSD/HDD is <$100. Hard drives only get cheaper and more spacious, perhaps in the next four or five years I can drop in a 3TB SSD.

Also, now that PS4 is on x86 architecture, full backward compatibility for the PS5 should be ridiculously easy, and hopefully there won't be any excuses not to do it. If not natively, at least by streaming.

I used to worry about Sony or PSN disappearing, and not having access to any digital games, but the same could be said for the game patch updates, multiplayer support, etc. Nothing is entirely offline anymore, unfortunately.
