I think it is - I felt pretty similar about the plot at the point you're at, but absolutely loved it by the end. Things start to get different near the end of the second play-through and everything past that is totally new stuff in terms of story. If you're light on time but want to see the story just flip it to easy mode and slap on some of the auto chips.

I loved my SNES, but my attention span at the time was way too low to appreciate the great RPGs it offered. I'd rent/borrow one and give up after about an hour of "boring" talking and not knowing what to do. I played through Chrono Trigger a number of years later and thought it was fantastic - hoping to carve out time for some of the other classics one of these days.

@taargus_435: All it did was give me a consumable that restores a bunch of HP and improves stamina regeneration for a bit. I haven't used it yet though and she hasn't been there long, so I have no idea if there are any weird side effects (hopefully not herpes).

@bedouin: Nothing yet outside of the fact that it will be a paid expansion.

It was rough for sure, a couple of semi-blind jumps contributed to some serious tension. That said it wasn't quite as bad as my first blighttown trip, maybe because it seemed a bit shorter than that. It did certainly help that I was stocked up on poison-alleviating consumables though, screw those statues.

While we're discussing that area, does anyone know:

1) If there is a boss in The Gutter? I was expecting it but didn't find one until the next named area.

2) That weird giant ant thing was non hostile towards me, does anyone know what's up with it? I killed it and am curious if I may have missed something by doing so.

I can start hosting "Storytime Sundays" again - basically just running people who need it through a story dungeon or two on Sundays. This will probably work best when done by request - so if you would like to run a particular story mode send me a message in game or on here letting me know.

Seeing as I will be preoccupied with the always amazing Game of Thrones from 9-10 EST for a while, I'll set the default time for this to about 10:15 EST, 7:15 server. I will usually be up for running something Sunday afternoon as well if you can't make that.

Getting a full group for these can be kind of tricky, so if you request a dungeon I encourage you to help with other story mode groups as well!
