I'm definitely waiting to see if there are any version specific differences. Barring that I'll probably just go back and get the PSN version because I like the d-pad better.

@Curufinwe: Different sources will track sales differently, but if the link in the OP is genuine, 110K is being reported by Atlus, which is probably as good as you're going to get.

Final Fantasy XII did over 5 million, and Dragon Quest IX has sold almost 4 million just in Japan, so there's still definitely blockbuster potential for modern JRPGs. But those games have a hundred times more mindshare in the games industry than any SMT game, obviously.

I love me some Persona, and Persona 4 is one of my favorite games ever, but if they do decide to do another Persona as their next "main" game, I hope they shake up the formula a bit and either not have the setting be high school or not have the same social link system. Even just between P3 and P4 I was getting a little bit of deja vu with most of the arcs that the social links take, and some of the yearly events. Has there ever been a big JRPG that didn't star teenagers?
 
And that sentiment goes for the other SMT series too. I loved the style and storytelling of Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga, but I got serious dungeon fatigue halfway through DDS 2 and I still haven't finished it. It's pretty amazing how good all of the SMT series are, though. I even really enjoyed the gameboy Demikids game. The only one I haven't really liked at all was Devil Summoner.

There's really no other kind of feature with the same kind of quantity to effort ratio as the endurance run. There are hundreds of these done on big internet communities like Something Awful by people in their free time, for instance.
 
It was nice to have some Monday and Tuesday videos.

I used mainly Trumpeter and Loki, trumpeter for debilitate, Loki for defense up buffs and mad ice damage.

This is true. I don't know how sales figures compare, but I'd say we're more due for another main Shin Megami Tensei game before Persona. But assuming they keep the same kind of gameplay, if they complete the art assets for a bunch of demons, the development cycle for other Megami Tensei games like Persona or Devil Summoner would be a lot quicker.

It'll definitely be weird, but the upshot is maybe we'll end up getting more individual coverage content for a while.
