Except then she can't defend herself, gets killed, and the game is over.  I'm just amazed at how utterly and completely frustrated, unimpressed, and bored I really am.  I just went and stood in line to buy this at midnight, and I'm likely going to take it right back in tomorrow.  It's just RE4 with better graphics, and none of the fun.  If nothing else, it really highlights how completely meaningless reviews are these days.  Five stars/ 10 out of 10, etc. and I'm bored to tears.  God, I remember playing RE4 for seven hours straight on day one, and that was after waiting on it to arrive for three hours because UPS was running late, AND I had just gotten off work.

I'm starting to think it's time to just cash in my chips and turn in my video gamer card altogether.  At least I stayed in long enough to get to experience MGS4.

She is not "mostly ok" or even decent, or anything of the sort.  She is just plain terrible, possibly having the worst partner AI I've ever seen.  She constantly runs out of ammo, and runs around helplessly yelling for more ammo from me, which I struggle to give her because I have to open my inventory in real time to find it and select "give", and if I do that, she promptly starts shooting everything, no matter how close or ridiculously far away it is, and then asks for more ammo.  I only just got the game, and I'm already completely fed up with it.  I play games primarily for the single player, and this feels like half a game to me, with only the online co-op version being basically playable.

Seriously, the girl is just fucking brain dead.

"Dana White is cool and says what he thinks. You can like it or not, but you cant argue the fact, that he has taken the franchise to heights no one thought possibly 8 years ago. Jon Fitch better show some respect or Dana White will penetrate his skull with words from deep within the darkest places of us all. DW FTW!"
Cussing like a twelve year old and firing a talented athlete who more than earns his pay over a videogame is not "cool".  Respect is a two way street, and Dana has none.

"Normal" avatar support.  100 width and height max, upload from computer or host elsewhere.  No more of this stupid as hell "image too small" crap where I have to use a bloated image only too see it (poorly) scaled down as my avatar.  The avatars here are just lame, it's a basic feature, and like 1up.com, I have no idea how GB has screwed it up so badly.

"Being "original" and "innovative" is not like flipping on a light switch. It is very hard to truly make an original game anymore because you simply can't; every game that's ever been made has borrowed, to some extent, from games that came before. Christ, even Pong borrowed from the real-world counterpart game ping pong! Developers shouldn't feel the need to reinvent the wheel for every game. On the same token they shouldn't get complacent when they hit a success. It's a very tough balancing act to pull off. And just because a game gets a sequel doesn't mean it's bad either. Barring true virtual reality we've pretty much hit a plateau as far as creativity goes."
Agreed.  Arm chair developers on the internet who wax philosophical about the importance of innovation and originality, and how no game that doesn't absolutely ooze it isn't any good and not worth buying make it sound easy.  It is not.  Innovation, in it's importance to videogames, is vastly overstated on the internet discussion boards by people trying way too hard to make their disposable bubble gum hobby seem deeper and more meaningful than it really is.  Innovation does not make a game good by itself, nor does it's lack of it in any game single handedly break it either.

"Actually, when i think Final Fantasy i think Nintendo, back before all of the guys looked like girls and before the world fell in love with melodramatic 15 minute cutscenes. Frankly I don't care which console XIII comes out on. I wouldve had to wait longer since I'm not about to go out and buy a PS3 for two games (XIII and MGS4) but i probably won't be waiting in line on launch day for the 360 version either. In general, putting RPGs on consoles is almost pointless, since they are so time-consuming and really have no need for all of that horsepower. Just put the rest of these long running series on portables like the PSP and DS, like with Dragon Quest 9."
The guys always "looked like girls".  The sprites just couldn't convey the Amano character designs very well.

Tiers only really apply at the highest levels of tournament play.

If everyone's telling you to stop doing the same move, then shit: Stop doing the same move. You know it's annoying people, so stop playing like a dick. Whether it's cheap or not, it's definately not fun to face a guy who just keeps fireballing.
Those people are just blubbering vagina's though, why let them force the rest of us to play within a cage of imaginary rules and codes of "honor"?  PLAY TO WIN.  If someone is just tossing fireballs all day, it should be easy to counter them.  Smart players will then do something else.  They want a player to stop using the same move so much?  Stop allowing them to hit you with the same move so much.  The problem is on the whiners end, not the one playing the game the way it is intended to be played.  (to win) I used Goukens counter position too much on a Cammy using jumping HK, and the dude started jumping at me, but then landing right in front of me and throwing me, faking me out and leaving me wide the hell open.  I had to do something else.  "Problem" solved.

Ryu.  It's just repetitive as hell for him to have a super and Ultra that are essentially the same thing.  Hopefully he regains the shinshoryuken on one of the updates.

The only things I want to see changed now is a nerfing of Seth in Arcade mode, and a strict tournament style implememtation of ranked matches ala SF2 HD. (double blind character selection, best of 5 rounds, 90 seconds)
