I had such a good time with Dragon Quest XI. I can't recommend it enough if you want to scratch that JRPG itch. It was beautiful and I enjoyed the story even if it was mostly predictable. It felt like they set out to take a classic style of gameplay and bring it to the next generation and they pulled it off amazingly.

Um...Maybe Neverwinter Nights 2? It's not exactly ideal, but you can adjust the camera to an over the shoulder angle if you want.

Final Fantasy 1 is definitely not a good game. I still hold some nostalgia for it, but I wasn't able to bring myself to finish it even when I went back to play through it again. It might have been my very first RPG experience ever, though, which could be a large part of the reason it's as significant as it is. I hadn't ever seen anything like it before. There wasn't much story but you were still on an adventure. To my little kid self that didn't know any better, it was exciting.

Locke has the highest end game damage potential because he's the only character that an equip both defense ignoring weapons (Valiant Knife and Atma Weapon.) Paired with the Genji Glove and offering, nothing will survive an attack by him. Edgar is good with the jump relics because he can use spears which do more damage than other weapon types with jump. Pretty much anyone can destroy with magic, though I'll usually go with Terra or Celes for that because they can equip the Illumina + Paladin Shield which makes them completely untouchable and teaches Ultima.

If we're talking characters before endgame then I liked Edgar for his tools and Sabin for his Blitz techniques (I voted Vanish + Doom because I don't have a favorite.)

Yeah, I recently started playing again and had had my game ended by cheaters also. One of them jumped off the top of a building and took no damage, then killed my squadmate. He then instantly spun around and headshot me.

Another game I got the drop on someone, shot them a bunch and then they killed me. On the kill cam they had no health left. It's so incredibly frustrating to have a match you've invested so much time in come to an end like that. Cheaters are going to completely ruin this game if the problem isn't fixed somehow.

I gave up on the Nameless King in Dark Souls 3 since it was an optional boss and at that point I was ready to be done with that game, I just said screw this after trying like 20 times.

Same, dude. Same. I guess I just couldn't get a grip of those fucking delayed attacks.

Yeah, those delayed attacks are really rough. Interestingly enough, when I was banging my head against Nameless King I had a moment where he reminded me of fighting Mike Tyson in Punch Out! When I adopted the mindset that I needed to fight him like I fought Mike (don't let him scare you into dodging too early), I beat him my first try. I still think it's pretty funny that I drew inspiration in that moment from a game that's so different.

@redhotchilimist: Fume Knight was terrible. He gave me a really rough time too. I think From actually came out and said he had the highest win rate of all Dark Souls bosses at 93% or something like that. I don't know if that's still the case or not. After a few hours of attempts and multiple rage quits I finally got him down. Even though I'd finally beat him, I still felt like he ultimately won because he managed to crush my spirit so much. I HATE HIM!

I don't really give up on bosses. It'll keep nagging at me until I beat it. I will, however, reach a point where I know I need to walk away for a while.

So I just picked this game up and I'm enjoying it so far. I thought it might be fun to share Guild Cards with other Duders that are also playing. I plan to occasionally update this as I progress through the game.

Oh man. Bloodbourne was so good. It's the only game I've ever gotten platinum on. I would recommend grabbing the DLC and tackling that before you do the final boss. Like @humanity and @drachmalius already mentioned, the DLC is merciless if you try to make NG+ your first experience of it. I did too and hoooo boy, it was rough. They fully expect you to know what you're doing by then.

He learns Debilitate which I was super stoked about. Then he left the party and I was super bummed about not having his Debilitate anymore. That's about the extent of my affection for Akechi.
