For those of you not in the know, Renegade X is a free (not free to play; just free) remake of the multiplayer component for Command & Conquer: Renegade. As I understand it, they have permission from EA to do so as long as they don't try to make any profit from it. It's been in the works for years now and started as a mod for Unreal Tournament 3. Today, they just released a new trailer along with the release date for their standalone version. It's now set to be released February 26, 2014.

Anyone else here have fond memories of the original Renegade? I'm really excited for this as there's really not many other RTS/FPS hybrid games out there. At least not any that have managed to fill the gap renegade left. If you're interested in getting a taste of the gameplay, they also made a short single player campaign you can download here.

I'm concerned that my beloved Shin Megami Tensei games might stop coming over now.

I'm a big fan of the Wizardry series. If you're into dungeon crawlers then I highly recommend it. You can get Wizardry 8 here. They also have 6 and 7 bundled together.

I just finished the game today. I had 52 children and my time was 6:41. I was level 84. It was a lot of fun!

Typing of the Dead. Only thing with that game is you'll need two dreamcast keyboards for it. It might be a bitmore of an investment than you're willing to drop for just one game, but I've played it with my friend and we've had a good time. That game gets pretty freaking hard later on.

I have plenty of FOE horror stories from the older games in the series. Back in the day, running away from a FOE moved you backwards 1 space. If your back was to a wall then running away was impossible and you had to fight it out. That usually ended in tragedy.

I also remember my first wall eye in EO3. You don't see those until the 6th stratum (post game) and most likely when you first encounter one you won't have very much of the floor mapped. I didn't, so I didn't realize that the eye looking at me made every FOE on the floor aggro me. They will never stop chasing you until you leave or are dead. By the time I learned what was going on, it was far too late. Those guys were mean...if I remember correctly they had a petrify on your whole party attack that they loved using. Good times.

The overall reaction to game so far has been pretty positive in general from what I've seen. Honestly it feels kind of weird to see this series suddenly getting more exposure like it is because it's such a niche genre. I guess it's kind of this tense moment where you expect people to come along that don't appreciate the genre to start dumping on it, but it hasn't happened yet.

EDIT: So, I just found this page and I'm pretty sure it's got all the QR codes in this thread and then some.

Hey everybody! MORE CODES!

These are Gamestop Exclusive ones. They're on a .pdf so I can't just directly link to the image to post them. Instead, I just took some screenshots and then poorly cropped them.

@rastopher: Nice, thanks for the link to that FB album. It'd be nice if the quest QR codes had an associated recommended level that I knew beforehand, but that's okay.

I know what you mean. It would also be nice to be able to have more than one QR quest active at a time. Not a huge deal though.

On that note, I managed to round up a couple more quest codes and they had the requirements listed with them this time! Hooray!

Deer Chasers Quest:

Requirement: Scarlet Pillars Unlocked
Requirement: Scarlet Pillars Unlocked

An Eagle Never Looks Up Quest:

Requirement: Sacred Mountains Unlocked

The Man-Eating Turtles Quest:

Requirement: Cloudy Stronghold Unlocked

At RPGfan's Behest Quest:

These things all look the freaking same, so let me know if I messed up on any of them and I'll try to get them fixed up.
