Man. Fun to watch Dan's mind be blown here, but Jeff not having the common sense answers to Dan's questions is also funny. I think neither of them really understand gravity here because it basically answers all the questions about why anything is going on in the whole solar system and the rest of the universe.
Why stars, why galaxies, why spinning, why these orbits, basically the large scale answer to all of these is gravity at some level. Its not a fundamental force for nothing.
Anyhow good show gents. Interested in what they do next to try to blow Dan's mind.
Weird fit for a website notionally about video games. I get they are branching out but this is like... a different tree from what I expected. Hope we don't end up with shows about the MCU (though I'm sure Jeff G would veto that idea) or the latest on whatever TV show is popular as they chase the bigger audience. This isn't nearly as bad as that, but when making a bridge you gotta be careful what's on the other side too.
That said, there's definitely something to this concept. But I agree with others that small clips from the songs would REALLY help. The cast has a great rapport and it is genuinely interesting to hear them talk about music. Its a shame they are talking about terrible music since I bet they would be equally interesting about good music as well. Though probably its less funny to talk about how great something is than how terrible it is. Anyway, still feels like a weird fit for a Giant Bomb show, but I don't hate it. Even as a sort of music agnostic person the chat was entertaining. Maybe its better if you're into heavy metal or something.
I'd love to see several members of the site cheat their way through some old games that mean something to them. Jeff could do Phantasy Star 2, Brad could do Final Fantasy 6, and I'm sure Jason, Jan, Vinny and Alex all have games like these they could do (don't need to be RPGs even).
There is good potential in that as a series of solo videos that can go up whenever and are just chill vibes. Would be a fun series since you can just enable the cheats and be guaranteed to win and are just enjoying the game and talking to chat or whatever.
Why do the show notes on the bombcast sometimes cut off in the middle or words or sentences in my podcast app? The beast cast doesn't have that issue. I'm using the premi RSS feed and I don't think it's length related.
I have been fiending on Mahjong in Yakuza Like a Dragon since this went up. I still get my ass kicked at the hard tables but I can do ok at the normal ones now.
@timeoflifehaver: It is also related to the fact that other countries do common sense things like:
make Election day a holiday
Automatically register all citizens
Allow Citizens many and varied ways to vote
The US does NONE of those things. And there are many things besides that could be done to make access easier. Making it a holiday is hugely important for expanding access to those who can't afford to take time off work to vote. Cause if the choice is to vote or put food on the table, people don't vote.
