GOTY 2011: One year later.

I did this last year and enjoyed it, so I decided to do it again. This is my top ten games of 2011, I haven't changed anything on the list. The ten games are the same and in the same order. Basically this is a chance for me to go "Wow, what was I thinking" or "I still love this game!"

This year was weird, I didn't play much of these again. I don't really have any different opinions on these games, but I still think they are great.

List items

  • Still deserving of the top spot, but I gave the co-op too much credit. Looking back, Portal 2 was all about the story for me. So new puzzles really didn't mean that much to me. Such great characters though.

  • I still love Puyo Puyo!! Really didn't play this too much, but I'm dying for a downloadable version that I can put on my Vita or 3DS. Hell, I may settle for a mobile version. I love this game, but I don't feel like busting out a cart or turning on my Wii to play it. Needs to be a quick version of it.

  • I was still hooked on this at the beginning of the year, but I turned my focus on exploring the world to micromanaging. Trying to craft the best weapons and armor, creating potions that will sell. Basically trying to make an invincible character. PS3 version, so I couldn't access mods.

  • Like Portal 2. Once i was done with the story I was done. Still would recommend this game, and I don't regret putting it as high as I did. Just make sure you get past the prison, that's where it gets amazing.

  • Spoiler, this is my 2012, 2011 game of the year. First multiplayer game where I've actually reached the max level (Including prestige). They raised the bar again and there's no way I'm hitting the max again, but damn. It helps that my brother and sister play this too much, but man. This game is still pretty cool.

  • I haven't played this game this year, I have the Ultimate edition on PC, so maybe I'll get back into it. Starting over is a drag though (first playthrough was on PS3).

  • A lot of these games have no legs when they are done, so there is no reason for me to go back. LA Noire is still great though. If you haven't played it, you should get on that.

  • I will love this game for being a faithful recreation of the series (starts great, gets kinda iffy in the middle, horrible near the end) even if people say I'm wrong. The 3DS version was neat, I don't think I finished it though, stopped at the Biolizard.

  • I thought I was done with the Warriors series when XL sat untouched. I gave it to my sister and brother. Then Warriors Orochi 3 is cool and all of a sudden I am watching Dynasty Warriors 8 updates like a hawk. Goddamnit.

  • This year To the Moon came out on Steam, so if you haven't played it, you should probably fix that. I can't wait for the sequel to come out, there was the foundation for a neat story.
