Donkey Kong Country (SNES) is a great game and I will fight you with my fists if you disagree.

A Great Time for Gaming

When I rolled out of bed this morning, I noted that it was decidedly cold. Or perhaps a better description would be ridiculously cold. In fact, the temp was hovering at -12F/-24C when I walked to school in my full winter garb, face wrapped up like a ninja. Not the coldest day I've ever seen, but it's certainly up there. Some may complain, but it may be a blessing in disguise. I can think of no better time to sit down and play some great games. Speaking of which...

I started Beyond Good & Evil (PS2) last night. My first impression: That game is good. Really good. I ended playing until 12:30a and continuing my streak of getting no sleep. I'll write up a full blog detailing how I feel about the game later, but I'm really digging it so far. I have a couple qualms, but they are minor and almost forgettable.

Other than that, I'm working my way towards the end of the Terran campaign in Brood War (PC) and making steady progress in Chrono Trigger (DS). I'm gearing up to fight Magus right now and the trip has been great so far. I always forget all of the little things that make that game special. The characters are just so loveable and there is a unique sense of wonder to the whole game. The plot twists, beautiful graphics, and spectacular music are just pure icing. Never have I felt such a clear sense of redemption in a video game than when Frog picks up the Masamune and his epic theme starts playing. One can't help but smile. Dang, now I want to play right now...

Beyond Good & Evil is part of my long list of games to play, it sounds great. Also, crazy temperature. I'd be freezing!

It was -14 this morning here...-30 with the wind chill. Some of the coldest weather in Indiana history - it's nuts!

I really enjoyed Beyond Good & Evil, that's why I voted for it. Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance is another favorite game of mine. You can't go wrong with fun, looking forward to your thoughts.

Yeah Chrono Trigger is awesome. I still need to play Beyond Good and Evil. I have it for the PS2. Just haven't gotten around to playing it.

@Bru:  So far, I'd have to highly recommend it.  The best part is that it doesn't take its time to get going.  You'll be enjoying it from the first minute.

@Andrew:  That is a bit surprising.  the game is definitely addictive.

@Brandy:  Brrrrrrr.  I didn't know it got that cold in Indiana.

@Claude:  I'll be sure to put up a nice write up in the near future.  I'd love to get through the MGS series as well, but it's just such a commitment.

@Dr:  CT is an absolute classic.  And it looks like BG&E might rank up there by the time I'm done with it.

@Sweep:  I'm kind of getting the impression that it might end up that way for me as well.  I heard the game is short and I feel like I'm moving at a nice clip.  Hopefully it leaves my mouth watering for BG&E 2.
