The highest praise you can give a game like this was that it felt like a Nintendo game even though it was made by Next Level Games. The main issue I had with it was that the ghost variety was rather lacking compared to the first game since you will just fight the same types throughout the entire game. But I really enjoyed it overall and it was a worthy follow up to Luigi's Mansion. I played it back when it first came out.

Sometimes we forget to thank the one person that always starts this Extra Life train. Thank you @matt for always putting together this GB community project each year.

But extra Life isn't quite over yet. Some duders will be starting their stream today or have already started their streams atm. Check them out via these twitch links.

I'm pretty sure @mrcraggle should be going right now too but I assume internet issues popped up again.

I can't quite put my finger on why I'm interested in picking up Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival but I still kinda want to get it. I also skipped over Twilight Princess so this could be a good reason to finally check it out. At least game lineup wise the 3DS was on fire with this direct. Rolling into next year it looks like the 3DS will be a RPG players paradise. Wii U had plenty of game related updates but that side seemed a little sparse.

@arsalan85: No the only time they have ever talked over a Nintendo Direct was during E3.

At least in triple AAA development it appears to be really hard to bring out new ideas. Sticking with established IP's and known franchises is the trend they continue to head down. Battlefield just continued to slightly change as the years gone by while still keeping the fact that it is a team based multiplayer game with vehicles. Which it still is even if it has somehow turned into cops and robbers with the latest release. Sure it's a bummer these games couldn't have continued to iterate in the way you enjoyed BF but at least it looks like you've found a game that does what you like in SQUAD.

You pretty much listed every franchise that I continue to buy even though they've been going on for a long time. Although I don't always buy every game those franchises put out anymore. Like I mostly rent Assassin's Creed games even if they've been getting a little stale. But if they do a good job they can get me to come back and buy them like AC Black Flag. So in that way maybe someday EA will let DICE put some of what you enjoyed into Battlefield again. I'm sure that is unlikely but you never know.

I just tried it and it seems like a unique way to collect items to make the home screen look different. While also giving Nintendo another way to sell players on other games. The sales rabbit just went on a tangent about Tri Force Heroes when I started it up again. Which could be kinda annoying but it really is just a in game ad like any other free to play game on phones.

@zombiepie Thanks to Extra Life I almost forgot to check out this weeks community spotlight. Thanks for mentioning my Mad Max review and for noting my EL post again.

I mainly wanted access to some of my XBLA library again. So it looks like I'll be able to play Shadow Complex and Hexic HD again going by that list.

I've seen Whiteday mentioned a few times as being a genuinely scary game today even with how dated it looks. But a remake can help make it a even better game if they do a good job recreating the creepy atmosphere of the original game. I'm genuinely surprised that the creators of the original game managed put together a team to recreate it. After all Whiteday never seemed like a game that would have sold a lot of copies but I could be wrong.

October in review:

Super Mario Maker is awesome

Corpse Party Blood Drive unfortunately doesn't live up to its potential.

OP: PW3 is a good Dynasty Warriors game.

The GBA Castlevania's hold up well and are worth playing.
