Best Of E3 2018

Irrefutable prove that these are indeed the best games at E3 from my perspective. Honestly I could keep listing more games but at some point it becomes silly. Since I was able to throw this list together without even thinking about it this E3 must be pretty good. While it would have been nice to see less sequels I think they had a solid spread of titles that even comes across via this list.

In a lot of cases it seems like a game just needs to wow me visually to get me to pay attention to it. Unless it’s a franchise I care about. Which is really all I’ve got to work with other than some impressions from the bomb crew. So props to all the dev team and the marketing team that put on the show that is called E3 every year. Onward to the games!

List items

  • Quite a few games set in what appears to be Edo era Japan. Yet only one spoke to me. Fantastical fights against oni isn’t my kind of samurai action. Something more realistic while still being very cinematic is more my wavelength. Also after Tenchu was brought up multiple times this was the game that most fit that archetype. While the trailer didn’t show it off this is also a stealth game too. The well choreographed fights and settings just make it more appealing.

  • This may only be a well produced CG trailer but it shows a vision that I need to see in a video game. I’ve seen high praise from everyone that has seen the behind the scenes demo too.

  • Over the top action is back once again to test my reflexes. Hard to tell if the combat is going to be on point like usual in a trailer but it certainly looks cool.

  • I’m sure some fans are disappointed this isn’t like REmake. Yet the creepy tone seems to be intact and I prefer the RE4 playstyle. Why is it that Capcom seems to be making all the right choices with all their games other than fighting games?

  • All they had to say was that this had EVERYTHING to sell me on it. The changes to the combat seem like good additions too.

  • This looks so cute! Plus it’s like Zelda but with a fox. How can I not like that?

  • The sheer variety in the combat now per Disney world is kinda a lot. Makes me wonder if they focused entirely on all these mini games per world and didn’t really change the core combat of KH any. Still this is still more of what i want from Disney and Square’s weird brand mix.

  • Yo this game has a look!

  • Remedy knows how to set up a world I want to see.

  • I just didn’t expect to see this game already. DoA always seemed like a simple to learn fighting game that I enjoyed. Just never really got into it and I’m now curious to check out this lastest release.

  • This looks even cuter than before. I’ve been sold on Harvest Moon x Pokemon for a while now.

  • Give me all of that high speed mecha action. I can never get enough of it since we rarely see it these days.

  • I would call this high speed dumb action. I’m sure the combat is fine but the appeal of this one is just the over the top story.

  • Dontnod is working on so much stuff lately. This looks like a standard murder mystery with supernatural elements but it’s set in WV. That last point sells me on this more than the so-so trailer.

  • This looks like the Spider Man game I’ve wanted again since the PS2 era. Great web slinging action mixed with some very cool looking combat possibilities.

  • The Yakuza team is making a game based on one of the best 80’s anime. How can I not want to see the results of their effort?
