Thank you for everything, Jeff. I sincerely mean that. You been a constant voice in my life for almost 20 years now... I'm excited for what the future brings to you. Regardless of if it involves having an audience to hear your voice somewhere or if this really is you riding into the sunset. Good Luck, Have Batman. <>

I think the reason Dan doesn't connect with Kirby games is because they aren't really focused on super solid platforming. To me they mostly exist to be a refreshing breeze. Kirby is actually my favorite Nintendo franchise because of this.

Especially recently I've found myself being drawn to games that just let me blow of steam and relax. I still like challenging stuff in moderation, but sometimes I just need the video game equivalent of a warm hug. Which is exactly what Kirby is for me.

With that said I played the demo for the Switch one and also came away from it pretty underwhelmed. It just doesn't feel like it does anything remarkable to the Kirby formula other than adding 3 extra party members which I didn't think felt fun or cool or whatever. Maybe things pick up in the full version, but I don't know... It just didn't stand out in any way for me.

My favorite Kirby games are:

Epic Yarn for it's very obvious embrace of my earlier sentiment of just being terminally pleasant and incredibly inventive in its presentation.

Triple Deluxe since I feel like the 3DS iterations were the most refined in their controls and this one also does some cool stuff to change up the Kirby game formula with the Super Nova power/sections. By the end of this game it goes straight up Dragon Ball with how those extreme sucking powers play out.

and finally Planet Robobot for the same solid controls as Triple Deluxe, but the mechanical aesthetic is a welcome change to typical Kirby visuals. Kirby mech (!!!). As well as having the robotic overhaul of a lot of the familiar bosses causing some really cool new fights instead of just retreading the same old same old like Star Allies seemed to do in the demo. Also the last hour of this game is INSANE; Kirby turns the Kirby mech suit into a gigantic anime space ship and fights a moon that turns into a giant face and uses lasers, giant numbers, and different household objects the size of astral objects to attack you. I feel like it does not get talked about enough.

Why doesn't the progress bar go into hide mode anymore? I have had this problem with both east and west vids, I assume it is something to do with the new player but it is bloody annoying.

I mean in full screen mode of course.

Must be a new bug. It was working fine a couple days ago.

I deleted my cookies, reloaded the page and opened an incognito window to no avail. Restarting my PC worked, so I thought it was something on my end. Weird.

I'm also having this issue even though it was perfectly fine yesterday. The bar only stays visible in full screen mode on both Firefox and Chrome for Windows 8.1.

Fun Fact: in middle school my friend drank an entire bottle of BBQ sauce in one sitting. Then she felt super sick/ had horrible stomach pain a couple days later. Turns out almost instantly gave her a stomach ulcer. Have fun, Jason!

I got an Xbox and never played Halo. I got it for Ninja Gaiden and to play as Spawn in Soul Calibur II.

I didn't say I was smart, I just said I did it.
