@NotoriousPIG: The Spider Shield is awesome. I started with it since I picked Bandit and haven't found a replacement yet even at level 20. I have a Knights Shield, Grass Crest, Balder, and other shields...Spider is 100% physical damage protection, has good resists, and is lightweight.

I don't know how well it will hold up at higher levels, but it seems like it's one of the best early game shields available.

Doesn't the Spider Shield block poison attacks too, pretty great for Blighttown.... ;)

From the wiki: Absolution is given by an NPC after you ring the first Bell after the gargoyle boss fight. You must pay 2000 souls x your soul level. This will remove your Sin and also remove all NPC hostility

This is the part that sucks the most, I had to restart after 8 hours play because I did the same to the blacksmith, I was Lvl20 so I needed 40,000 souls, was way to much hassle, plus the save icon in the corner was permenantly on, annoyed the hell out of me. So I restarted, also blazed back through it much easier the second time.

So Pro Tip: WHENEVER YOU GO NEAR A NPC, TAKE YOUR INDEX AND MIDDLE FINGERS OFF OF THE TOP OF THE CONTROLLER!!!!

Although once you do it once, you never do it again, luckily I learned only after 8 hours.... ;)

Got points off a site in the end, but that was a nightmare too.......ordered 1600 US points from www.electronicfirst.com (looked legit) and the first code they sent had already been used (turned out it had been used on June 10th according to MS!!!!)  Several phone calls to MS and emails back and forth between me and electronicfirst and I managed to get another code off them that worked.

Tread carefully around www.electronicfirst.com........ ;)

you need to contact paypal (i know it's crap) and tell them it's ok. It might have something to do with your account being unconfirmed or something. Also you might need a USA address attached to your xbox live account, anyone will do. Why not somewhere in San Francisco? I didn't seem to get any taxes on the points with having an address in cali attached.

When you say contact, do you mean the Pre-Approved Payments on the Paypal website??  Because I've gone through that setup through MS with no problems.  Or have I gotta ring Paypal??

With regards to my US Xbox account, I've got a US address already set up on it so I don't think thats the problem.

Been trying to add points on to my US account on xbox.com with Paypal (don't wanna add a credit card to a dummy US account, probably won't be able to take it back off knowing MS ;) Added the Paypal details ok, but when I go to ADD POINTS I get this message when trying to Confirm Purchase:

Your payment instrument could not be authorized. Please contact your provider, or try a different payment option.

Anyone else got this or know of a solution???

I've tried removing the Paypal details and then re-adding them back, same problem everytime.... :(

Is it not possible to download the trial from a Silver US account, then launch and unlock it from your UK account? Does it just return an error if you do this?

Yes, you get an error message because Trenched is not on the Euro Marketplace. But, Muir is Sorry, really sorry....so we're all good.... lol

I've successfully used my US Xbox account to download and purchased Trenched, and I can confirm you can use the full game on your Euro account. Been having great fun with it online!

is that with your US account signed in when you play Trenched or does it work JUST with your Euro account??
