I have never seen Brad and Dan do a run with such a good result. Sure, it's like watching Mr. Magoo evading dangers he cannot see. But still, very clean.

All the hectic MP action aside, it seems that they got some of the hand to hand combat finesse down. And depth in terms of options, skill curve and so on.
I like that, it's just the hectic MP only(?) that is not as appealing for me (these days), would prefer something more similar to Mount & Blade, doesn't have to be as deep in the RPG parts.

Thanks for the stream!
I think I've seen enough of SoT for a life time now.

And just to echo what everyone was saying, I haven't watched a lot of GBWest content recently but Mary really adds a lot to the dynamic of the group. I'd be delighted if it could be a more regular thing.

Hmm, I agree that GB West needs something or someone to add a dynamic to the blend. Not sure Kish would be a good fit though. Nothing wrong with her but I think they need someone less predictable like Dan or Vinny. That can come up with good, unexpected stuff to give it all a spin. I'm well aware that it's hard for a guest to show up and change stuff around in a setting like this.

Mario Maker videos without Dan and Jeff just feel wrong

Yes, but I was about to give Ben the benefit of the doubt here. Instantly regretted it when he said that stacking enemies and building robot bosses with cannons were new. Especially stacked enemies, you see that all the time in courses. But the world is big, and there are other streams to watch if you want comments from people that actually know what they are talking about. If that's your thing I mean.

As to the news that was shown in this Nintendo Direct. Puhh, quite a lot to take in. And most of it seems really good. I do however have some questions and fears about the following:

(.) Will there be a filter to filter out auto levels in 100 Mario Challenge? I still play 100 Mario and those levels are by far the most annoying. Sure it's easy to skip, but it would be even easier to just filter them out. I want to PLAY Mario, not WATCH it. I saw that the added tags for course search at least.

(.) Super Mario Maker gets 5x as fun when you play Online. Get comments on your levels, send the levels to friends and foes, get inspired by good level makers and so on. This is now a payed service. Off putting for me.

Of all the new stuff I have to say that the added logic options are the biggest one for me. Like different win states and the on/off switch are pretty huge. Combine that with the stuff you already had in SMM and you can do very interesting stuff.
Super Mario Maker 3 with visual scripting/programming anyone?

This video (fast game, complex scenes) really eats a lot of bitrate.
Quite a nice idea for a game I have to say, just as snake, gotta be a good bathroom game.

Pilot Dan!
This (the series) is way better than expected and I still think that GTA 5 Online (heists) with three people over VOIP is one of the best MP experiences one can have.
I admit, I have my purple nostalgia glasses on, but who cares.

Abby dying 3 times the same way with no regard to other players or teamplay.

Sounds about right.

That's true that she died 3 times, but only two of them were a problem for the missions. And I think she learned to not under estimate the AI, she seemed more humble over her ability later on.

I'm finding the inconsistent frame rate between the different views quite distracting. Abby and Dan seem like a pretty solid 60fps, but Vin and Alex both seem closer to 30. Alex's view seemed extra choppy. Hopefully this can be resolved in future episodes. Thanks guys.

It probably wont since it's pre-recorded. I think it's still watchable and fun, but you can for sure see the choppyness and the multiple encodings of the video streams. A bummer, but it works. You can see what's going on.

If they are going to talk over the talking then I hope they edit it so we can see the subs in the future

That would be very helpful yes since it brings a meaning and instruction to the heist steps. We'll see about the future, if you are lucky the player with subs turned on will be on the screen.

@stealydan: You just turned this into a "get it the moment it is on sale" kind of game to me

Loved Chivalry. REALLY dislike the crowd that setting tended to attract back then, let alone in 2019. And it can only get a LOT worse when the females patch comes out (let alone the skin color one).

Competitive online games tend to have utter garbage fanbases. Gamers tend to decry Blizzard and Ubisoft for "censoring" their freedom of speech by heavily moderating toxic behavior, but I sure would like to play my videogames without racist remarks plaguing my chat and and racist caricatures popping up in my kill feed.

Yes, this has been an issue for years in gaming on public servers, and internet in general I guess. Some communities more than others though, I gotta say.
My observation is that this is more likely to happen in communities where:

* The game is popular, mainstream/casual and easy to get into. Example: More so with games like Call of Duty than Arma. Arma 3 however got more streamlined, focused on action, hence more crap on MP servers compared to Arma 2, which were more niche.
* How action packed the game is. This is also about depth in some manner, but compare a game like Ace Combat with Digital Combat Simulator.
* Young age and or immature players. This is related to the above points.

The above is generally speaking, there are always abnormalities to any model.

I'm of course not saying that it's immature to like mainstream, casual action games, I like them as well, but perhaps less so these days. I had more enjoyment in these kind of games when younger. And when I play them I prefer doing so with friends, in a team over VOIP, and I never really have to read the chat.
Annoying people in the in game VOIP I just mute if they misbehave too much. Sure, it would be better in you didn't have to, but it's just how it currently is.

Great having Dan back and deeply engaged in the game! The Red Alert 2 stream feels like ages ago.
