Best Games of 2009

2009 is an interesting year. I found a lot of games to be okay but not inspirational (inFamous, Halo 3 ODST, Bayonetta), or I deviated from public consensus and disliked that which others absolutely loved (Spelunky, Borderlands, Dragon Age, Demon's Souls). I also really liked a game that not many others talk about (Trine).

That said, when it comes to the top games, my selection is very similar to others. Uncharted 2, Assassin's Creed 2, and Left 4 Dead 2 were all fantastic sequels, and Arkham Asylum was the best licensed game ever to that point and a true realization of a hero from my childhood.
