Maybe it's just me, but "Fist of the North Star" and "obscure" just don't go together. It's one of the most famous properties of the 80's, with decades of material. In any case, to answer your questions, yes it's based on a tv show, which was serial, the game isn't a sequel, it's made by the Yakuza team, there is a story, and there are other games made by other development teams, in the past.
@mosthigh: Are they any specific points with the game that you take issue with, or is it just a general feeling? The music sounds quite cheerful, to me.
Can confirm, Rainbow Six: Siege Starter Edition is a massive grind. It has taken me the better part of 8 months, playing rather often, to unlock about half the starting operators and three later operators.
Man, this game... I hate to harp on, but remember when Metal Gear used to mean something? If this game was released under any other name, I guarantee it wouldn't have gotten nearly as many sales, but also people would have been a tad more forgiving of it. It still sucks, don't get me wrong, but having it exist as "bad survival game #372" would be much better than having it exist as part of Konami's total devaluation of a historic, artistically driven franchise.
