I’m cool either way. While I think it would be neat to see it played through, the missing character is absolutely one of the best, and most important, characters in the series... and I’m torn between having wanting Alex to have _this_ Mass Effect experience and the _best_ Mass Effect experience.
I think I lean towards a reload, since I’d be bummed to not have that character.. but either way, I support the decision.
I was a little surprised this segment was so short, but I guess it's all tied up with the Ilos stuff in my mind, and there really isn't that much afterwards.
Re: ME1 vs ME2... I totally get _why_ the ME1 people love ME1. ME1 tried to do a lot, and ME2 sold out a bit of its uniqueness and ambition for a smoother experience. I don't begrudge anyone who likes the increased open spaces, more 80s vibe, stronger plot, etc. But the character work in ME2 is so strong, the rough edges so much more polished, it's so much more cinematic, the suicide mission is one of the few times in games I was truly on the edge of my seat with _no_ idea what was going to happen to the characters I'd grown attached to... there are just so many fond memories that I can't ignore.
Thanks so much Alex and Vinny! My Tuesday mornings will be a little duller until Commander Shep-Shep's next encounter.
I haven't watched this yet, but immediately upon reading "Pinnacle Station" I scrolled down to see if he was actually going to play through all of it.... thank goodness he's skipping most of it.
Bring Down the Sky, on the other hand, I think is one of the better ME1 sidequests.
