Hey guys,

So - I'm a relatively new to being an adult and have recently found that I have far more money to buy games than I have time to play games - an issue that is in no way helped by Steam's crazy sales and digital delivery system.

I wanted to know exactly how much money I was wasting on said games, so I wrote this PHP scrape script (currently demoing my personal Steam ID) to figure it out. Note that this isn't necessarily accurate, just going off of what Steam provides - it does include DLC and mark it as unplayed (-1).

Anyhow, I decided to try it with the Whiskey Media staffers. Enjoy!

Jeff - 955 games / 7.43% played

Vinny - 175 games / 37.71% played

Ryan - 80 games / 38.75% played

Brad - 931 games / 6.02% played

Patrick - 921 games / 0.43% played (that's FOUR games played; a clear winner in my book)

Dave Snider - 202 games / 49.01% played

Kessler - 254 games / 50.79% played

Norman - 925 games / 6.7% played

Gary Whitta - 921 games / 1.95% played (definitely a solid effort)

Ana - 9 games / 88.89% played

Matt Braga - 109 games / 28.44% played

Try it for yourself, just insert your ID or profile number into the end of the URL. Or then again, maybe don't if you want your wallet to retain its dignity.

I'd appreciate non-American dates, I can't deal with this month-first nonsense.

Has Hirshberg sent out a memo yet regarding the leaking of all his memos?
Already done. I assume we'll see it on the site by Monday.

It’s little surprise the downloadable content’s writer/designer, Steve Gaynor, was picked up by Irrational Games to work on BioShock: Infinite

Actually, Steve 'Hot Scoops' Gaynor worked on the original BioShock at Irrational Games as well.

Everything I've read/see about the game makes me think its just that a 3D rendered adventure game that overachieves visually and aurally compared to other games in the genre. "
There are achievements for 100 kills and 30 headshots (check the tab).

I found that sentence rather jarring. Why would he not compare it to an actual shooter, like Gears?

" They import said games from New Zealand anyway. "

No we don't, I've never met anyone that does. As well, sometimes if a game gets banned here it doesn't even make it to New Zealand for fiscal reasons.

If/when we import games we get them from from the UK, where they don't cost $109.95 AUD ($118.38 USD) for a title that costs around $60 anywhere else in the world. Australian pricing is significantly more fucked than Australian censorship.
