Best of 2007

Looking at the game releases of 2007 is a little disappointing. Maybe I am just in a bad mood since Killer Lists is now bankrupt and I am destitute. Maybe everything is better in memories and what even is the point of life? Whatever the case is, I did manage to find 10 games to populate my list.

In 2007, I moved from an apartment to a big boy house with 3 other college friends. The house had a big living room and also a den area. When we moved in I put all of my video games in this den. Little did I know the previous tenants had cats who would piss in this area. They must have done this constantly because sometimes the pungent smell was so awful it would make me gag. Fortunately, the landlord checked it out and eventually replaced all of the carpets.

List items

  • I would have dreams about Super Mario Galaxy. I do not think I have ever been so anxious to play a game as I was with this bad boy. I saw online that people were able to procure a copy early. After reading this I immediately went to every Best Buy, Target, and Wal-Mart in the area. I was not able to play the game before the official release date but when I got my chubby, grubby, and cute hands on it I fell in love. I was in awe throughout my entire play through. It felt magical.

  • I used to play Team Fortress 2 a lot. Portal was pretty great. Half-Life 2: Episode Two was entertaining as well.

I was a computer science major in college. When everyone played Portal the cake joke was a big deal. It drove me crazy.

  • Call of Duty 4 is a fantastic game. The online multiplayer was such a blast. This game implemented a perks system that was revolutionary for the genre. It mixed everything up and added a lot of variety to a series that would have lost it's legs a lot sooner otherwise.

  • In this game you would drive a space van on alien planets while a nasty film grain covered the screen and synthy, Jon Carpenter-esque music played. It was a pretty cool experience.

  • I was the xbox owner of our house. My roommate bought this game and played it on my xbox. I watched him conquer the campaign and it seemed pretty dang great. He just had a baby. Everybody is having babies. I have 2 cats. I could not image how crazy it would be if they grew up and started learning english and looked like me.

  • I remember the first level of this game. It felt like I was playing a Pixar movie. The rest of the game is kind of a blur.

  • Metroid Prime 3 was a game I played through and never touched again. I really enjoyed my time with it but never felt inclined to dust it off again.

  • This game is proof that games are art. You can electrocute somebody with hand powers and then smash their head in with a wrench.

  • One time my neighbor was really drunk and came to our house. She was mad that we were playing this game and not paying attention to her. She called this game "Odin Shit: The Wizard Game". She hit the nail on the head.

  • This game was very entertaining. It was not as good as the sequel but it was a good start for the franchise. You play as Sir Francis Drake's grandson and you shoot mutants in a nazi submarine at one point.
