I am going to pick it up on PS3, since it will be the best looking version.

I have only played about 60 minutes of this game, but so far it feels very different. Maybe it gets better?

I know that its trying to be closer to BG/IWD then it is Arcanum, but I know that some of the guys behind Arcanum are in the development team so I was just wondering how much of Arcanums design ideas maybe trickled into this game.

Arcanum is my favorite game of all time so I know the game won't fill those boots completely, but I just wonder if theres any systems like Arcanum in this game?

Examples:

In Arcanum, you had MANY ways of completing quests/scenarios

1. First city, Shrouded Hills, you can speak to the doctor in town who has recieved a tip off that the bank is about to be robbed, you can help him save the bank and in return claim a reward. On the other hand you could track down the bandits (who carry rusty weapons, not very well equiped) and help them rob the bank, OR you could just rob the bank yourself. You could them go to the doctor, and steal the rewards he was going to give you ;)

2. There was a FANTASTIC reaction system in the game, depending on your intelligence you would either play dumb, or be incredibley smart and people would react accordingly to this. You could also increase people in a certain town reactions towards you by completing quests, and you could also put gear on such as smokers jacket that increased your reaction and this would open up alot more dialogue and gameplay.

3. You could get fantastic gear at the start of the game by being a bit evil, stealing. For example in the first town there is a locked chest in the Blacksmiths where he keeps his stock, this is a very hard chest to pick lock early game but if you complete certain quests you could earn a fate point that would allow you to critical success the lock, at night, when the NPC is sleeping (Yes there was actually NPC scheduling, game felt very alive.) and loot stock, alot of good items to be had. On the other hand there is a travelling merchant in the first town who sells magical swords (one of the best swords in the game infact) if your brave enough, and strong enough to kill her or perhaps even pickpocket her, you could claim these powerful weapons for yourself.

These are just a few, a very small selection of some of the things that made this CRPG so incredible, and I just wonder if PoE has ANY of these features? if not then I am very confused as to what a CRPG actually is compared to Arcanum, because I played BG2 and it felt more like a storybook with gameplay consquences mainly happening in the story and dialogue then it is the actual game like Arcanum.

The scenery was nice though, especially when on the bike. Though I fell off twice, really annoyed me but luckily come the running part, its easy.

Hey guys, so I just purchased a 3DS game yesterday off the eshop for a hefty 34.99. Why did I purchase it off the Eshop you ask? Well I don't really like game discs/cartridges so I tend to just get my games digitally if given the option, plus the price wasn't that much different online or in store over here in the UK anyway.

So the game I bought was Donkey Kong 3DS, I bought it because I heard so much great stuff about it and everyone one the forums were raving about it and I thought what the heck, impulse buy lets go for it! About an hour in, I started to regret, I just wasn't having fun with the game and nothing was clicking with me. I understand that a lot of people like this game and I can KINDA see why, but for what ever reason this game just didn't do it for me I just wasn't having fun. I stuck at it, got to about world 4 - 5-6 hours of play time - no joy. So now I feel deeply gutted about dropping the cash to play this game, worst of all I am a student so money is tight to begin with : (

Any of you guys wish to share your experiences? It may help me feel better!

Thanks

Ryzon

I had just been playing Battlefield 3 on my console online, and your getting into a match and you get kicked for no apparent reason. As I looked closely at the server, it stated i wasn't allowed a particular weapon.

I understand rules like these being implemented into PC games because PC gamers are use to it, but should we let servers like these infect consoles as well? Consoles tend to have alot more 'casual' players and consoles seem to be the go to things when you just want to relax, however as soon as you start putting server rules and custom servers into games where people can get kicked at a moments notice, seems to counteract what a console is designed for.

So what do you think guys? Are you more then happy to accept the rules and allow custom servers into our games, or do you not like to adjust your gameplay style based on somebody else's preference, and just play your way?

@demoskinos: This one only cost me $20, so on top of me being not bothered about things like that, I also saved some money in the process :p

More serious answer however, if I like this and can complete it then when the new one comes even further down In price I will buy it and continue with my current character. :)

I've decided to go with dragons dogma guys! I will play saints row when I want a break from this I think! Thanks for your ideas and suggestions tho, always humerous to read!!

So I just treated myself to two new games, Saints Row 3 and Dragons Dogma. I bought the first dragons dogma because I didn't realise until after the fact that there was an updated version, but meh not really bothered.

So which would you play first guys? The Epic RPG experience which would probably last me hours and get me sucked in, or the crazy over the top Saints Row game where I will just run like a mad man and hit people with a giant... you know what!

Umm you didn't earn it. It's a video game and it has rules. At some point in whatever game you're talking about you're being forced to work with very little. I don't see any problem with it.

Paying for the game didn't earn me my fun? Sorry mate your response could of been a little better then that, even though I understand my frustrations are extremely opinionated.

No, paying for a game does not entitle you to anything. Maybe the developers expected you to use stealth at a certain point in the game, so you're weapons are taken away from you. The very same weapons they GAVE to you (You didn't earn shit, they purposely placed them within the game).

Well, it entitles me to give my opinion : )
