@Akyho: I hope so, just having the option would be great. I only have 2 more games that I want to purchase directly for the xbox 360 and those are Gears of War: Judgement and possibly GTAV.

Blah blah piracy blah?

Is it even possible to download something from Games on Demand and pirate it?

@Cameron: Dead Space is on PSN right now for preorder. I have the option of getting it from Amazon on release day, wait until late that evening of release day to download on PSN, and be able to play the next day not ever having to worry about a disc. Like you said, at least it exists...

I would love to purchase games on release day on the Xbox 360. I like having discs but at the same time the ability to have a disc in the tray and be able to launch a separate game instantly without having to worry about a disc would be a nice option as well. I don't understand why Microsoft doesn't have day one releases on games on demand. I am really interested in Gear of War: Judgement and having the ability to use ms points to purchase it would be great. I think the Games on Demand is broken because a game will release 2 to 3 months later at full price. I think Microsoft has some rethinking to do.

Thoughts?

4 1/2 years may not be realistic for a mid-range card. I have had this 8800gtx since 2008 and it has played most games just fine. The forced direct x 11 is whats going to end this card. I have baked this card about 5x in the oven to bring it back to life so I think I have got my moneys worth out of it. I am primarily a console gamer. I am just looking for a card in the range of $200-$250 so I can play the PC exclusives or the games that aren't ports. I just don't know whether to buy a card now or wait for a deal. I am aiming for a 660 ti but if the Radeon 8870 is going to be 20-25% faster than the 7870 and be under $300, that may just be the card that I want.

I currently have a video card from 2008 that is having a rough time playing current games. My video card is a GeForce 8800 GTX. I will be able to play DmC, Dead Space 3, and Aliens Colonial Marines according to the currently released system requirements. Crysis 3 on the other hand is strictly directx 11. I will have to upgrade if I want to play Crysis 3 on my pc. I have a budget of $200 - $250 max. I have read that the Radeon 8000 series OEM card are supposed to release as early as the end of January. So, do I wait on the OEM cards to release that may or may not lower the price of the 7000 series cards or buy now? The true Radeon 8000 series cards are set to release in Q2 and offer a 25% increase over the 7000 series and are supposed to release at a lower price than the 7000 series when they 1st released.

The cards that I have been looking at:

EVGA 660 2GB $200-220

EVGA 660 Ti 2GB $239-309

XFX 7850 2GB $189-229

XFX 7870 2GB $209-269

I want a card that I can use for another 4 1/2 to 5 years without having to upgrade.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for a ~$200 video card upgrade for Far Cry 3. I have a few questions and concerns before upgrading. I currently only have a PCI-E 1.0 slot and I want to purchase a Radeon 7850 or a 7870. I have read multiple threads on performance issues and compatibility with PCI-E 3.0 cards in 1.0 slots but the answers vary.

There should be no compatibility issues. There may be some issues with cards that have the older 1.0a specification but 1.1 should be fine. As for performance, it would not be noticeable...
you will see a performance drop of less than 1%.
You should be able to put a PCIe 3.0 card in a PCIe 1.0 (they are supposed to be backward compatible) slot but your performance (okay, the graphics card's performance) will not be great... actually, it may not even be good. But, when you do your upgrade, (provided your new CPU and mobo support PCIe3.0), you'll be sitting pretty
It will work. PCI-E is backwards compatible. No idea about how worse the performance will be compared to a 3.0 slot but I doubt it will be by much.
No Caption Provided

I have an older 2008 self built pc. I have read that your cpu has to be compatible with video card which doesn't make sense to me. I don't want to purchase a card that won't give me much of a performance increase. I also am not willing to buy a whole new rig when I am mainly a console gamer and with so many rumors of next gen only a year away. Could someone suggest a video card for around $200 and let me know if a 3.0 card will work with my current setup?

My Rig (yes I know its dated)

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 2.5GHz

Memory: G.SKILL 4GB (4 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 800

Video Card: EVGA 768-P2-N835-AR GeForce 8800GTX 768MB

Motherboard: EVGA 680i SLI

I want to finish:

Far Cry 2

All the Assassin's Creed games

I doubt finishing those games because in a week and half all the big fall games will be releasing.
