One of the most engrossing, well-rounded RPGs of the year 0

Every once in a while, a game will come out that extends the boundaries of its genre through multiple facets. Whether through graphics, sound, or just general gameplay and the Polish developers at CD Projekt Red might have done it with their first release, The Witcher. Releasing onto store shelves on October 30th of 2007, The Witcher strives to become something new in a genre that has been somewhat lacking since the days of Baldur's Gate and Might and Magic. Using a heavily modified engine that ...

An excellent FPS for any avid gamer. 0

This has to be one of the best, if not the best looking game out for right now, being a week before Doom 3 comes out Far Cry was released on March 23 of 2004 and has been awing fans ever since.Utilizing the CryEngine produced by Crytek, a company out of Germany, Far Cry is definitely the most detailed, colorful engine out on the block today. The game's physics scream out to you when you plug a mercenary in the head with a sniper rifle from 200 yards away and you watch his body fall over the rail...

Taking stealth into the modern era, SC is great all around game. 0

Defining a new line of stealth action games, Ubisoft’s release of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell for the pc on February 17, 2003, busted out onto the scene with a lot of enthusiasm from fans awaiting the release. You’re known as Special Agent Sam Fisher working for the Third Echelon, a special agency within the government that no one really knows about, of course. You alone are asked to free the world of cyber-terrorists throughout the nine dramatic missions within the game. But don’t believe that j...

Staying true to the series, this 3rd game is certainly enjoyable. 0

Ion Storm's new game that was released May 25 of 2004 has definitely made a lot of old Thief fans happy. This new addition to the series has definitely improved Ion Storm's pride since their dismal output of Deus Ex: Invisible Wars.Definitely following along the lines of the first two thief games being Thief: The Dark Project, and Thief 2: The Metal Age, Deadly Shadows (DS) adds to the story right where the Thief 2 left off. Many fans were spectacle of Ion Storm gaining the rights to the franchi...

A solid appearance from a new Developer, People Can Fly 0

Released April 9th of 2004, a first person shooter, looking like the games of old, like Quake or Doom touched down upon the shelves of game stores. The Developers known as "People Can Fly" (PCF) brought into play what a lot of deathmatch fans have been waiting for.Painkiller is a simple game in itself. Kill everything that comes in front of you. Anything and everything you see moving, shoot to kill. Why you ask? Because if you don't, it will waste no time ripping you apart. Giving the player 5 w...
