Most Disappointing of 2016

List of games that REALLY disappointed me (that I actually played). These aren't all trash but they are games that really bugged me in such a way that I thought of the flaws more than the good.

If I stuck with a numbering system (which this list is not ordered in any way) I would include The Division and No Man's Sky at the top of this list.

List items

  • The parts of the game where you from start to end game was fun, but the second the endgame content kicked in it became a disappointment. Between unbalanced gameplay, terrible loot progression, severely broken PVP, and a lack of content this is a contender for biggest disappointment of 2016.

  • I need to go back to this game at some point but the launch on PC was so troubled that I uninstalled the game within launch week.

  • Fun game but somehow worse than the original. The open world doesn't really add anything to the quality of the game but after something like Titanfall 2 the once agile, fast game of Mirror's Edge now comes off as slow and plodding. Not to mention I felt as though I were fighting against the mechanics at times.

  • Destiny started off with potential but disappointing, went super positive with The Taken King, and then almost immediately shat the bed again.

  • I enjoyed my time with this game but it was so buggy and they played it so safe across the board that by the end of the game I was glad to be done with it.

  • Much like Deus Ex I enjoyed some of my time with this game but the typical Telltale bugs, glitches, crashes, and poor performance made me really wish that Telltale could finally give a crap about the quality of the games outside of just the storytelling.

  • Had I had a better experience online this probably wouldn't be here even though it might be 2016's biggest mess. I don't care about a story mode (even though something like what NetherRealm would be cool) but the game really was lacking. Just give me a port of Virtua Fighter 5, please.

  • More like Gone to Sleep.

  • Slog. That's the best way to describe this game. I loved the first Lego Marvel game as it was a great title for fans of Marvel comics but this is really only for fans of the movies. Not to mention 85% of the game is just a grind fest.

  • I had high hopes for this game based on the word of mouth. I didn't like it and I doubt I will ever go back and give this a second chance.

  • Carbon copying the N64 Starfox with dumb, new mechanics doesn't help anyone.

  • Specifically the PS4 release. They could have put more effort into this long due port.

  • Fitting that the game based on the movie is shitty. They took what was once a $15 downloadable game on 360/Ps3 and made it a shitter $60 game on current gen. Good job.

  • No real reason to go into it; its merely a survival game that always managed to be more annoying than fun. bio diversity was cool but alien life, ships, stations, etc are all extremely boring and I came across the exact same thing way too many times.
