@splodge: Eh it was always taught as Oceania to me.

I thought Oceania was more of a regional thing, including Australia, New Zealand, melanesia, and a lot of the Pacific islands.

Burning Chrome is also an excellent collection of Cyberpunk short stories by Gibson. The Diamond Age is really good.

Neuromancer is a classic, of course. Gibson coined the term "Matrix" as a reference to cyberspace in that book.

But really, there aren't nearly as many cyberpunk novels out there as you would expect, given how often you see cyberpunk themes in games and movies.

Welcome to the future - man, machine, the fusion. Lightyears ahead of evolution.

Yep. You are the fusion of man and machine, making you "light years ahead of evolution".

It's complicated, and I'd bet that many a rape was but a genuine misunderstanding, with no malicious intent from either party. And I'd also bet, that for every 9 rightfully accused rapists, there's 1 that just got stuck with a crazy woman or con artist, which probably feels even worse than being raped.

Are you saying that we should ignore the plight of sexually abused and battered women because a few of them might be liars? Are you fucking kidding me?

I think I'd second canuck's suggestion and just go in to her game as you are. You'll be under-leveled for a while, but you should catch up, and in the mean-time it will be somewhat more challenging for you. You can always go back and play through the other acts some other time if you want to fill in the gaps.

Pokemon is probably the only JRPG that gets much play with the youngins. Maybe Mario & Luigi.

I don't think we'll ever stop crime completely, at least not in our lifetimes, but I do hope that those in positions of authority will stop trying to cover those crimes up. Anyone involved with one of those cover-ups is as disgusting as the perpetrators.

Spiritually speaking, pretty good.

But for real, I had to clear snow off my car this morning. I haven't seen a single leaf on a tree yet this year. No gardens are happening in the Midwest for a while.

Oh! Once I also sent a question about it to My Brother, My Brother, and Me. It was answered on the podcast, and that cheered me up a bit (even if they didn't actually give me any advice).
