My TerraOnion NeoSD Pro (AES) arrived on Friday. Neo Geo flashcart. Super impressive build quality.
It's weirdly fascinating that there are all these different tiers of cost and difficulty to play old games these days. Depending on how much of an enthusiast you are or how deep you want to go. I think I'm on one end of the spectrum as I usually prefer playing games on their original hardware and on a CRT. The opposite end are these Mini consoles or just emulation software on a PC which is a more cost effective solution.
As someone who has been curious about Advance Wars, I'd like to check this out. Think I'll wait and see if Limited Run does a PS4 physical release. Seems exactly like the sorta game they'd do.
A few minutes into the video and.. this looks exactly like Destiny to me. You could tell me I was watching Destiny footage and I'd believe you.
And I don't have any real interest in Destiny. Generic-y sci-fi shooters. Who knows, maybe it'll be amazing. But a lot of people seem to like Destiny and, playing through the campaign of 2, I thought it was completely unremarkable if not a bit bad.
Fully expected Brad to have handled this QL. Definitely not the sort of game Dan seems to like.
As someone who bought it, put about 7 hours in it seems, made it to floor 15 and has a love hate relationship with it.. this QL seems very unfair to Below. I pretty much rage quit the game last time I died but I it isn't entirely the games fault.
The food/drink meters are the worst thing about the game, but even then, it's not that bad. You just have to be patient and smart.. *ahem* like in any of the Souls games.
I think this Quick Look should be redone after the holidays with Brad. I'm not sure he'll really like it, but if he is intrigued, spends some time alone with it at home, learning things and being patient, maybe even reading the impressions thread on the forum to shine a little light on how much is actually going on in the game that may not seem so obvious at the start.. I think Brad will at least respect and understand what it's going for.
I also expect the staff to say they want to turn the comments section off, that they try to ignore it, and that we're all kinda crazy/unreasonable lol
...people realise that this isn't the next full entry into the Pokemon series right? That is still coming? This is not the battle system that is going to be used moving forward.

I knew Let's Go! wasn't the "full entry" in the series ever since Nintendo/Game Freak specifically said that way back when. But just like we've seen with everything else on the planet, if a company changes up the recipe for something and then suddenly it becomes the biggest, most popular thing on the planet, either developers or the shareholders behind it will push them to shift the core design towards that more popular direction.
What they should've done a decade ago, because it seems completely obvious, is to make an awesome, massive, console-based, open world Pokemon RPG. If something makes sense though, Nintendo doesn't do it.
I'm just being realistic about my expectations. I have had zero interest in the Switch since it was announced, but I always said to myself the one thing that would make me buy one is a big ass, modern Pokemon RPG. I skip most of the handheld ones but I would 100% throw my money at a legit as Pokemon RPG. And that is not the direction I see them going in. I'm betting it'll be very similar to the handheld ones in look and performance, with minor tweaks like usual, and now they'll have weird gameplay tie in stuff with Go! like the pokemon capturing system Lets Go! has.
After seeing this, I have a feeling Pokemon Go will be the thing that ruined Pokemon games (for me.) I did not touch Go, seemed super dumb, simplified, and just for people who like staring at their phones all day.
I was (kinda still am) very eagerly awaiting this new "full" Pokemon game they said is coming, but if Let's Go! is any sign of things to come, its that they are going to make the main games even more simple than they already were (not including all the crazy stuff if you want to get into the stats stuff.)
We'll see, but my money is on the next big Pokemon game having a bunch of lame ass stuff and Go tie-ins.
@jetlag Hmm.. Something seemed odd that it said it was "blocked" for copyright stuff when I uploaded it. But most of my videos have copyright claims against them for stupid stuff and still work as far as I know. Plus I put this one as Unlisted and I'm not setup to monetize my channel anyway. Let me try uploading it again.

Been waiting for the SSJ3 episode to come up because I remember how incredible it was back then. I would've been around 12 or 13 I think? SSJ3 is definitely my favorite looking form and this first time he transitions to it. I was so excited in fact, that I actually recorded the episode when it aired. The only episode of anything that I've ever recorded as far as I know.
I still have that VHS and, because I love you all, I took the time to digitize it and upload to the internet. Recorded off Toonami including the commercials which are a wonderful throwback. Man, the memories. I think I'm of the opinion that the Kai stuff is kinda middling, but this is a case of the originally absolutely being better because of the music mostly. Although it sounds like Goku's best line "And this is what it means.. to go even further beyond!" was removed in Kai as well?
I would love it if @jeff and @danryckert watched it and talked about it. Thoughts vs Kai etc. The music was so epic IMO. Commercial break stuff is amazing.
