Haven't checked in here in a while but just wanted to say that Orange is fantastic and is kind of all I give a fuck about right now despite following a few shows this season. Every week I think "well the next episode won't hurt me soul like this one I'm sure" but it always does. And my favourite thing is that it's never just melodramatic, there's always something that makes me smile too, and it all just looks so damn nice.
I got around to finishing Sakamoto and overall I'm glad I watched it. At some points I wasn't sure it was still working for me but the last few episodes really worked for me with how they pulled everything together for a show that didn't seem like it would really try to do that beyond a certain point. The continuity of it all ended up being really appealing, and is the kind of thing a show like this needs to keep people invested past the gimmick. It's also really great how Sakamoto is this bizarre character that always comes out on top in some way, but the end result isn't negative for the other person/people in the situation. The episode where he helps Hayabusa with his family is kind of amazing.
Started reading Oyasumi Punpun, and boy is that some disturbing shit. Never have I both wanted to see and not see where something goes so much. Simultaneous intrigue and dread. This is reflected in the art, which is beautiful and terrifying all at once.
