Haven't checked in here in a while but just wanted to say that Orange is fantastic and is kind of all I give a fuck about right now despite following a few shows this season. Every week I think "well the next episode won't hurt me soul like this one I'm sure" but it always does. And my favourite thing is that it's never just melodramatic, there's always something that makes me smile too, and it all just looks so damn nice.

I got around to finishing Sakamoto and overall I'm glad I watched it. At some points I wasn't sure it was still working for me but the last few episodes really worked for me with how they pulled everything together for a show that didn't seem like it would really try to do that beyond a certain point. The continuity of it all ended up being really appealing, and is the kind of thing a show like this needs to keep people invested past the gimmick. It's also really great how Sakamoto is this bizarre character that always comes out on top in some way, but the end result isn't negative for the other person/people in the situation. The episode where he helps Hayabusa with his family is kind of amazing.

Started reading Oyasumi Punpun, and boy is that some disturbing shit. Never have I both wanted to see and not see where something goes so much. Simultaneous intrigue and dread. This is reflected in the art, which is beautiful and terrifying all at once.

The Nice Guys - 4/5

I looooove Shane Blacks Last Boyscout. I didnt particularly enjoy his last movies,...

You didn't like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang? If you haven't seen it, I suggest you run...don't walk to see it. It seems like it would be right up your alley.

I would like to echo this. It's the best Shane Black movie for me, and features an incredible Val Kilmer performance.

I haven't watched a movie in ages, think the last one was Millennium Actress which was a while ago. I'd rate that 5/5. The direction and animation is wonderful (as expected of Kon), the pacing is excellent (especially remarkable given that it's mostly flashbacks, which can easily get bogged down or move too quickly), the soundtrack is beautiful and fitting, and the plot is intriguing and heartbreaking. But what I love most about it, like all of Kon's work, is how you can sit there and analyse the themes and motifs and character motivations for ages afterwards. Well, that and how much he loved making his characters run, and actually having it animated well.

@redhotchilimist: Yeah we def value different things in the show because I hate The Great Divide with a passion haha. I totally get where you're coming from, and some of the filler is indeed quite good. But bad filler has always rubbed me the wrong way

I'll prob check out a few eps just because it's Berserk, but my hopes are not high.

On another note, my rewatch of The Last Airbender has reached the Tales of Ba Sing Se, which is not a very good episode. It's still been pleasant going back, though. Two bad episodes per season of 20 isn't a bad ratio.

Which is the other one in the season? I think Cave of Two Lovers and The Swamp are both pretty bad, and I can't really dislike Tales of Ba Sing Se just for the Iroh bit which is super touching. I hope you're looking forward to the next episode (the Appa one) which is one of the most interesting things the show did.

Hellboy and Blade have two good movies each that I haven't seen in a bit but I watched all of them years after they came out and they held up.

Road to Perdition and A History of Violence are great (though I haven't read the source material for either).

Spider-Man 2 still has some nice action scenes (namely the clocktower and train) but was a bore otherwise even at the time. Spider-Man 3 is still so bad it's good.

As for V for Vendetta, it's one of many butchered Moore adaptations that make me feel sorry for the guy (he's still a dick, mind). It's not quite League of Extraordinary Gentlemen though (haven't even read the comics but that movie was godawful regardless and I hear nothing but good things about the comics).

Yeah hearing this on the Bombcast was insane, as the competitive community would have already kicked up a fuss about it, and if you pay attention in game you can see why these games happen. The overtime mechanic itself is why close finishes happen. A really big example of how there's not any weird comeback.rubberbanding stuff is 2 CP maps, where if the offense team caps in the first push they can often easily roll the second cap as they have a huge ult advantage (and these are the opposite of the games the Bombers were talking about as they are over in 2 minutes, and they suck).

Also for KOTH maps they are small and it's often easy to stall out the end as you just need to touch the point to extend overtime, so you'll get switches to Tracer and D.Va and there'll be a Lucio coming in and out of a window on the point. KOTH is just madness TBH.

Have done this on offense twice, won twice. Same thing with Torb on defense. Not sure other "all hero" comps work, and most of the ones I've done that have were in Open Beta when nobody knew what was going on. They can be pretty hilarious though (seen so many that they don't do much for me any more, sadly. I will always love all Roadhog, though).

Alright, apologies for stirring up so much trouble, some irritation from elsewhere definitely came through in my posts when it shouldn't have. I didn't intend to sound like such a prick but reading them back, yeah, kinda shitty.

Let's just replace them with "in my opinion, Winston does not need a rework because he's good, actually".
