@seinenfeld: The amount of times I've said this to myself and still come back is sickening. Lets see if you're more self-disciplined than I am.

In other news now that I've achieved my initial goal I've been trying other characters to look at a secondary and Ryu is just so damn fun. Playing him also taught me a valuable lesson in the FANG matchup. Using V-reversal's that hit are a fantastic way to just get his poison off you.

Well I uninstalled Hearthstone like 10 times so probably not lol (though I was actually very good at that).

And that's pretty interesting, even if poison isn't even worth caring about #BuffFANG

Another highlight of the SFV matchmaking system:

On the bright side I almost took a round.

After spending ANOTHER few HOURS on trying to beat Ken's tatsumaki I am once again convinced it is 100% bullshit. To beat it you have to be early enough with crHP, if not I sure hope you have V-metre for a V-reversal or CA. Otherwise you are 100% fucked. Not a single one of Gief's regular moves can punish the potential follow-up DP after blocking the tatsu. No SPD, no crLP, nothing other than CA.

I had to play JeSuisCharlie last night and it was easily the shortest game of SFV I've played so far. So I feel your pain as he's like the 5th player over 7000LP I've had to fight (others I remember include cobelcog and nimo_0). It's kind of ridiculous.

@starvinggamer: Who's this?

So after watching some of the replays this is definitely some sort of bot or player using some cheat script shit. He is untechable and never misses dps, always jumps command grabs, etc.

Lost to a 900 LP Bison and then beat a 4500 LP Ryu. I'll attribute that victory to my 4 first to 5s with some German Ryu in battle lounge last night (which was a lot of fun and a good connection).

@seinenfeld: Sure thing, I still think Birdie does very bad things to Gief so I wouldn't mind the practice.

As for the Tatsu, crHP seems to be the best bet. I talked about it with some people and I think one of the reasons it's not working for me is because the animation of his tatsu does not accurately represent when the tatsu is actually over.

Yeah I'm not about to disagree. I've added you to my favourites and will randomly invite you to a lobby at some point. Be prepared.

@hassun: my id is OK_Goku, I was playing Birdie. I assumed it was you and checked the id thread afterwards to confirm. Maaaan I dropped so much shit, not entirely sure why, just one of those games I guess. We should run some sets some time, I need more gief experience since nobody plays him online. I don't have much of a plan against him except "spam banana; don't get jumped in on".

As for the ken tatsu stuff, it's very annoying, though the really mash players are almost always going to do the dp afterwards which makes it a lot less of a problem unless you give them too much credit. And the delayed tech thing people have mentioned is actually fairly easy, I use it a lot on knockdown against characters with reversals. I think everybody should get used to it, it's super useful, especially against dp-happy folks.

@sanj: I've had the same but the one time I did quit I did it immediately when I realised the connection was god-awful. If I let it rock then I'm not going to leave right before I'm about to lose. There's no excuse for actually rage-quitting.
