I loved the multiplayer and hated how all the movement in single player was doled out out 2 at a time instead of just focusing the amazing movement into a campaign. I loved this game enough to play it on 360 at my house and Xbox one at my parent’s house because the cross progression meant I was still leveling up in multiplayer. I feel like this title gave you the Xbox one and Xbox 360 version along with it. I got all the DLC and adhored the multiplayer. I’d got 1/5 for single player and 5/5 for multiplayer. All those sound effects are rooted in my brain. I give the single player a try every few years and nope right out.
I'd really like alot more push back from the community about the inability to redo goals for each skater. There is NO WAY i will touch the majority of skaters outside the one i initially selected. With the detailed voice samples and motion capture there's alot I will miss from this game. The goals from the original game have been drilled into my head to the point that i can play through this game and know exactly what to do.
The skeptical side of me says their business model does not support this game as being the only game people play in the way that if COD is the only game people play it's fine because if you aren't microtransacting then your friends surely are so they will allow it.
I think the lack of a real jukebox option is entirely frustrating (or as of yet, undiscovered). The way the game alters the music based on a character falling means i don't have a pure audio track to just enjoy when i play. So i have to turn off voicework. I don't know. It's a sticking point.
I cancelled my Series-S preorder because of this game. I have a disc copy and much like the GTA Vs, CODs, and every Ubisoft game I will eventually wring this game dry for all of it's features. Not being able to play this game on a next-gen console would have been absolute torture. My beloved Tony Hawk wouldn't even be in 4K on a Series-S when it is on my One-X. So i cancelled my pre-order. It's crazy that a 20 year old game has that much buying power. I'll get a Series-X, eventually.
