Don't expect this to Make your HDTV look "Fantastic"! 0

All of the options to use in the program are the basic features to allow you to try and make your picture look better. The bottom line is, this doesn't do a very great job of explaining things to you. Also, even then, it doesn't work very well either, better off doing it by eye. It is only 80 MP, but I recommend not even bothering with this one....

Use your favorite Nintendo character in this multiplayer bliss 0

Mario Party is pretty much a basic board game with characters from the Nintendo universe thrown in, and with the addition of mini games.     Mario Party was released well into the Nintendo 64's life cycle, and really utilized the 4 controller slots on the system, making it a nice party game, as most games intended to be on the N64. If you are familiar with the usual type of board game, or even right down to the basic board game, you'll easily be able to jump right into Mario Party. Each game ha...

The NBA Jam of Hockey 0

NHL Hitz 20-02 was made from the company Midway, whom is known for making really great and phenomenal arcade games, much of them being quirky and really fun. NHL Hitz really stands up as a great game with over the top things happening on ice, and is pretty much just balls out ridiculous.  The is by no way a simulation of the sport. The game consists of NHL teams going face to face, and 3 on 3. The game will start out with the face off, then the action begins, the speed is significant and really ...

Metroid is amazingly atmospheric in an isolated way 0

Metroid on the NES was the birth of this franchise, and is now one of the most highly regarded franchises of all time. Metroid was also very revolutionary with its game design, and how it had no levels and just one huge map to discover. Metroid was one big adventure in a sci fi setting and is one to remember.  From the start screen, you'll hear a little chime as Samus Aran appears, then the legendary Brinstar music will play in the background, and it is some of the greatest music you will ever h...

Mario Kart Super Circuit is brilliant in all ways 0

A launch title for the GBA, Mario Kart draws from that of Super Mario Kart, looking and playing fairly similar, but actually kind of better. The control is a lot more tight with this version, and the levels are just as good, and is a ton better than Mario Kart 64.  The game looks a lot like Super Mario Kart, but more sharp, with better detailed sprites, and less blocky. The same game modes make a return, such as grand prix, and battle mode giving you the same awesome Mario Kart experience you ar...

NHL 2011 passes physics with flying colors 1

NHL 2011 is the latest release in the EA NHL franchise, continuing the good old true simulation of Ice Hockey. The engine in which these next generation NHL games are run on had it`s face lift with NHL 2009, with board play, and the unique almost flawless control scheme.  NHL 2011 brings pretty much all of NHL 2010 to the table, with a few more modes, better graphics, and less overall frame rate. From the gameplay side of things, it is very much the best Ice Hockey simulation you can play, with ...

Racing in bland blurry tracks is quite a bit of fun 0

Mario Kart 64 took the all fun kart racing genre from 2D up to 3D, and in a sense not really all too 3D. It was the first of the genre to really move up in terms of graphics away from the flat style of Super Mario Kart. Released in 1997, and even packed in with a controller, it was one of the first great 4 player games, and was a lot of fun if you had 3 other friends to play with.  Mario Kart 64 has pretty much the same modes and features that Super Mario Kart had, such as Grand Prix in 50cc, 10...

Fallout is one of the greatest RPG's you'll ever play 0

Computer Role Plating Games saw a drought throughout the mid 90s, but saw a spike with the release of Diablo, and many new of the release of Fallout, and were fairly stoked.  Fallout is a game set in a post apocalyptic future, with a grimy 50s futuristic setting. Fallout doesn`t use your usual setting of orcs or fantasy theme, but uses weapons and many things found or created on this Earth. There are also laser rifles which were created by the Brotherhood of Steel, which is a group very dedicate...

Splatterhouse is an average game, that actually is extremely fun 0

Splatterhouse was originally released for the arcades in 1988, and was somewhat controversial. It was then ported to the TG-16 in 1990. Splatterhouse is pretty much just an average 2D side scroller beat em up. You take control of a teenage guy who puts on a mask and becomes ripped trying to save his girlfriend from the haunted mansion.  In Splatterhouse you pretty much just move to the right and you have an attack button and a jump button. The game is horror themed, and has deadly and frightenin...

Super Mario Kart is unbelievably fun! 0

Super Mario Kart came out in the second year of the Super Nintendo's life cycle, and looked really good, and played very well. You take control of one of eight Nintendo characters and race to the top in four different cups.  Super Mario Kart pretty much invented the Kart genre, if not, made it what it was and balanced as well. If you go back and play this game nowadays, most people will realize that compared to Kart racers now, and even within the last decade, this game is no cake walk. Super Ma...

The Incredible Hulk... No to incredible 1

The Incredible Hulk is another 2D platformer which plays like most on the market, except not very good. You take control of the beast and kill enemies getting in your way, but with lots of bugs.  Right from the get go this game feels broken and you can tell the developers just tried to cash in on the name itself, as the game isn't very good in any sense. It plays the same as all 2D action platformers, and doesn't have a nice sense of gameplay or feel like elites of the genre (Aladin). The attack...

Taz-Mania follows that of the cartoon and is fairly fun 0

Taz-Mania is a 2D platformer, and is pretty fun in its own rights. Taz-Mania follows suit of pretty much every other platformer around the time, but as well adds many cool features from the cartoon that it is based upon. In the game you will jump or spin like the Taz Manian devil does to take out enemies.  Taz-Mania plays like all your other 2D platfpormers out there, but isn't completely generic. It takes the concept from the cartoon that ran from 1990-1993 and uses art and most characters from...

The TG-16 pack in game, doesn't really showcase the system 0

Keith Courage in Alpha Zones was the game that came packed in with the Turbo Grafx-16 when it launched in 1989 in North America. It is a 2D platformer action game, that has you playing in two different types of worlds, one as a kid on a goofy looking overworld, and the other in a kick ass robot mech type suit in the dark underworld.  In the overworld where you play as this young kid, the gameplay is fairly slow and the weapon of choice being some type of small dagger where you hit enemies in fro...

A bad port of one of the most AMAZING game ever created! 0

Pac-Man was a phenomenon of the early 1980s, and during the first big boom of video games. Pac-Man played probably the biggest role in video games only really coming behind Super Mario Bros. When introduced to the arcade market, it hit by storm and everyone in their right mind were feeding quarters into Pac-Man machines wherever it may be, such as Funeral Homes, or Bowling alleys. But, lets get into the version for the first ``real`` home video game console.  The Atari 2600 was a very popular co...

Use your favorite Marvel superstar and duke it out 0

This game is like your every average fighting game, 1 vs 1 and using punch and kick buttons, as well as combos to do special moves. You choose from 10 fighters from the Marvel universe, and 2 unlockables. You go through the arcade mode and fight every fighter in random order, then the 2 bosses(whom you unlock) Doctor Doom, and Thanos. The game gives some difficulties to choose from. I've enjoyed the game a lot, and played it for hours back when it came out. This game is pretty good and has an a...

HeartGold and SoulSilver are amazing remakes 0

HeartGold and SoulSilver are remakes of 10 year old games, and are justified using elements and graphics from the DS games from the series. You will take control of your character and collect all 16 badges and catch them all.  From the start up of each of these games, you will notice it looks pretty much the same, just a lot prettier and in 3Dish graphics, and better translation. You will be able to obtain the same Pokemon from the original games, and including the starters. You will battle vari...

MAG is a pretty addicting shooter, but seems like its lacking 0

MAG is an online only, first person shooter, and is pretty fun all together. From the start of the game, you'll have to choose from one of three different factions, and each with their own back story and array of weapons and equipment. Throughout the game you will gain experience points and unlocks perks with those experience points.  When I first started to play MAG, it was very fun, and had really interesting and somewhat unique elements within the game. The gameplay for MAG is played out extr...

Pokemon Gold and Silver are the best portable games out there! 0

Pokemon Gold and Silver are the actual sequels to Red and Blue, and continue with the same basic formula and gameplay. You take control of a kid and pick your starting pokemon, then set out on an adventure. There are 100 all new pokemon, as well as a whole new area to explore with the ability to revisit Kanto.  Silver and Gold from the start already looks better than the previous in  the series, and fully supports the Game Boy Color. You'll start out by picking your pokemon first off, then you'l...

Legacy of Goku is a decent game with many bugs 0

The Legacy of Goku is an action adventure, hack and slash type of game. It plays much like the earlier 2D Zelda games, as well as including puzzles in the game. The battle system becoming very boring and bland.   In this game you will play out the Saiyan Saga up until the Frieza Saga. There are also side quests throughout the game, giving you some more interesting things and trying to make the game more interesting. Some of the side quests, which you have to do, require you to kill something, ...

BioShock has an atmosphere of none other 0

BioShock is a game where you fire up and don't know anything about what is happening for the first half hour in. There will partially be spoilers coming in this review. You start out in 1961 as some dude, and he'll be in a plane checking out his watch. After that, the plane then blows up and flies into the water, then you'll swim up to the surface. This is when you take control as you swim between plane debris that is smothered in flames. You then will enter a lighthouse and go down a weird look...

Pac_Man is one of the best arcade games to date 0

Pac-Man is a yellow looking pizza with a piece taken out of it, and collects pac-dots on the screen in a maze type fashion. Each level is designed the same way. In each level there are 4 ghosts that move around and try to get you, and once they hit you, you'll lose a life, when only having three throughout the whole game. Your main objective is to collect every pac-dot on screen, and the larger pac-dots turn the ghosts blue, and then gain access to eat the ghosts while they are blue for extra po...

A young boy from Pallet Town is out to catch 'em all 0

Pokemon Yellow is based off of the same engine from the previous games in the series, Pokemon Red\Blue. Yellow edition adds tons of new and cool features that will keep you interested and want play an already amazing game, full of new experiences. Yellow follows in the footsteps more in the vein of the anime show, as you start out with Pikachu, and he follows behind you.  Pokemon yellow starts out very similar to that of Red\Blue, where you run up to the wild then Professor Oak catches a Pikachu...

Nagano ' 98 is sluggish and very unplayable 0

Nagano '98 is a game created by Konami to coincide with the Olympics being held in 1998. From the start up of the game, and the presentation, along with the pretty good music and menu options, this game is looking pretty good. There are 12 different events to choose from, which is quite a bit, and looks even better, but this game pretty much sucks.   First off you choose your Country, then it throws you into one of the events. Most of the events in this game are very unplayable and are very sl...

This is one wierd, game? 0

Linger in Shadows is one of those games you buy for $3 of the PS store, not knowing really what you are going into even. It starts out playing a movie of some sort with pretty good looking graphics. Then it will stop every once and a while and you have to push some buttons or move to SIXAXIS. You can interact with this black smoke while the video plays, and a lot of weird stuff is happening during the video too, a stoner or drugie could probably be occupied fairly easy with this one. This so cal...

Braid is an excellent game, and has a fantastic art stlye 0

Braid is a 2D side scrolling platformer, which uses time, and intense puzzles throughout every level. Braid has gameplay, in the same vein as the 2D Mario games, but not as much, while keeping the jumping to lower levels and such. Braid is consisted of 6 worlds, and about 6-8 in each, and has a couple of boss battles.  In Braid, the first thing you'll notice is the art stlye and how amazing Braid really does look on HD setups. The gameplay at first will feel very much like your average platformi...

Flow is a very unique game, and easy to get into 0

Flow is a soothing game with very interesting design, and uses the six axis on the PS3 controller to move your object. Flow just puts you right into the game, telling you pretty much nothing about the game. At first you'll just sit for a while not even knowing what is happening around you. I found myself not even knowing how to really control the game, and just moving the controller around pressing random buttons, and after about 15min. of doing that, I slowly started to get what I was supposed ...

Pull out your pea shooter, and get ready to take down Dr. Wily 0

Here is a game in which you take the role of a young man, in a blue suit with a pea shooter and out to save the world from the evil scientist, Dr. Wily. Mega Man is like an action platformer with shooting elements, along with dodging tons of enemies, as well as obstacles.  In Mega Man you choose from one of six bosses, in which you can take down in any order, but learning the game you will then discover which is the best path to take on these bosses. When you defeat a boss and their level, you w...

You travel and explore eight diverse and unique worlds, with tons of new features. This is also one of Marios best adventures hes has ever been on, and a very fun one to last.  Super Mario Bros. 3 is like your average platformer with familiar gameplay to that of the previous installments in the franchise. Dunk Hunt is a very enjoyable game 0

Dunk Hunt is a light gun game that utilizes that piece of hardware, and is a solid package. You pop in the cart, then point your gun at the screen and wait for duck to start flying in the open. Your main goal is to hit as much ducks flying by as you can, to get the highest score. This concept is actually made fun, and the enjoyable can last for hours, especially with a friend by your side, as well as two light guns.  The control for Duck Hunt is fairly explanatory and takes no time to learn. Super Mario Bros. 2 is a sequal to the 1985 smash hit 0

This is the second game in the Mario series to be released in North America. You can play as Mario who controls the same, and Luigi whos has a fluttering jump, then Toad who isn't very playable at all, and lastly, the Princess Peach who has a glide after she jumps.  The basic gameplay looks similar to the first game, but has you jumping on enemies then picking them up...
