I'm with you. It's a great game and handily made my Top 10 list.

Also Loaderbot should definitely have at least been a runners-up for best new character. I could even see Rhyse making that list.

The worst part about it is that it's still that Tell Tale formula of making choices that don't really matter with the exception the fate of a couple characters.

True, but at least they are trying to subvert expectations (by including choices that don't matter on purpose for some great jokes) and playing around with the whole "X will remember this" mechanic quite a bit. It's smart.

On my first run-through two people died. Matt (he had no flaregun) and Jessica (but not because of Mike fucking up, she died in that later segment).

What you are saying is true, but it's also just a very childish reaction. I've gotten annoyed by people trying to push stuff on me too (and I will again), especially if they went overboard with it, but I still try to form my own opinion of it without just going "fuck this".

Honestly the GB guys (and everyone else, who is above the age of 13) should be able to do that. Witcher 3 is the prime example that they weren't.

That's how I feel as well. It's one thing to be disappointed in something that was hyped too much, but it's kind of juvenile when someone takes it to the mindset of "oh yeah, well I'm not even going to try your stupid popular thing, so there!"

It juvenile of the fanbase to keep pushing stuff on people too. If someone says "Eh... I'll check it out when I have time." or something then it's very childish to continue going on "hey did you check that thing out yet? How about now? Ok. but what about now? Y'know I know you'd really like it. Why don't you just check it out? Did you check it out? Hey did you ever check this thing out? Ok? But how about now?" Now imagine 100s of people doing that to you multiple times a week if not every day, 'cause that's how it is. People need to calm down about the things they enjoy.

Full agreement there as well. Both extremes--"you HAVE to play this, and you're wrong if you don't enjoy it / people want me to play this, so I won't"--are pretty stupid. I posted that Family Guy Breaking Bad joke earlier in the thread, and while I like the show, I'm not about to suggest that anyone is "wrong" if they don't like it.

In fact, I usually suggest people new to Breaking Bad should watch the first three episodes, because after that I was hooked. If someone isn't enjoying the show at that point, it's probably not for them. Of course, if someone can't even make it that far for some reason, that probably means that it's REALLY not for them, and that's fine too.

Obviously agree with you guys on that point as well, there's always two sides to a coin. It's just a really annoying situation to watch unfold all around, especially since neither side seems to able to stop being childish.

(Side note: Breaking Bad only gets really great from season two onwards, but I of course, know what you mean.)

I don't understand how that feeling happens or how someone can turn negative in the face of positivity. Why the negativity? What is gained with the mindset of, "Your enthusiasm for this thing you like is annoying me so now I'm going to actively dislike it to spite you" because I can't understand it.

When 100s of people are constantly and aggressively pestering you play/watch/enjoy something they enjoy and when you show the slightest bit of uninterest in it they start to be more aggressive and very bitter about it, it's very easy to be like "well fuck this then!"

This year in games has had a lot of games that inspired that sort of fandom. Bloodborne, Undertale, MGSV, and the Witcher 3 just to name a few.

What you are saying is true, but it's also just a very childish reaction. I've gotten annoyed by people trying to push stuff on me too (and I will again), especially if they went overboard with it, but I still try to form my own opinion of it without just going "fuck this".

@ripelivejam: Sure, I was at best half-serious, because I find the whole "controversy" surrounding The Witcher 3 pretty funny.

I'm convinced she is Luke's daughter and I'm okay with that. (At least as long as the rumours of Finn potentially being Lando's son turn out to be nothing but bullshit.)

There's just a lot of hints at it (even R2 only woke up after Rey arrived at the base) and the way everyone treats her makes more sense if she is family and not just some random girl/a former padawan.

I think the character design looks okay (aside from the whole belt situation), it‘s very Tales-y (and kinda looks like something out of Vampire Knight) and I'm fine with that. I do get the Bloodborne comparison too and that's also not a bad thing.

Really cool that you are doing this.

Would love to get the key for Warlock if still available.

I'd love the key for Dead Space 2. Really enjoyed DS 1, but somehow never got around to playing 2 and 3.

#10  Edited By Sessh

Just as every year I'm looking forward and dreading this at the same time. Some of the arguments are just really annoying, albeit always entertaining too.

People seem ready for Dan to filibuster hard, but I remember him being pretty reasonable during last year's discussions. Brad on the other hand... if Destiny makes it into the top 10 again this year I may very well be annoyed for a brief moment then move on with my life. But what a moment it will be!

Kind of like Dark Souls getting the snub in 2011, I'm fully prepared for Witcher 3 to get the snub this year. What I'm looking forward to is seeing how the staff tries to balance a strong apathy on behalf of most of the staff with the critical consensus the game is receiving. Do they put it in the Top 10 despite no one completing it? Should be interesting.

I'm also curious if Patrick makes a guest appearance.

Get ready to be really annoyed for that short while then. (Brad is definitely the most stubborn guy among the group. Jeff being second, because he's more scornful than stubborn really).

Just the same way I'm going to be annoyed by every single second of them discussing The Witcher 3. That game is never going to make their list and they will feel great about it too, but oh well. Doesn't really matter.

Probably with a Top-10 guest list.
