I still might give it a try, but with so many other MMOs that look genuinely interesting and that are attempting something different where it actually matters, it's hard to give this game any kind of attention. And it almost seems like the developers themselves aren't confident about this game. Too many CG trailers that have absolutely nothing to do with the game is never a good sign. I am infinitely more interested in games like TERA, Guild Wars 2, The Secret World and Trion's new MMOFPS (forgot what it was called).
Just because they've shown CG trailers doesn't mean their aren't gameplay trailers.. there's a ton, even an E3 gameplay trailer.
The fact they've always shown a new CG trailer in conferences and events to get the crowd hyped up tells me they're simply not confident enough to show gameplay and still get the crowd excited the same way. And that's most likely true, given plenty of reports from people who have indeed played the game first-hand and came out less than impressed (Jeff is only just one of said people).

There are also a LOT of people who are blown away by it. I know there are a lot of trolls around here (read: shady1992) but just step back and take a deep breath people, It's just a game. Also, as CL60 said, there is a ton of gameplay footage from all of the con's. At PAX last year they had a live gameplay segment on their main stage running through a group mission with community members. As for "trying something different that actually matters" I think that statement alone gives away a lack of knowledge of this game. There are a lot of things they are trying that are different and (if you believe the devs) will matter. Whether they actually will matter we won't know until the game's released but blanket statements like that are pretty silly.

I can say that after I played it last year it looked great. There were issues obviously but for where it was in development it was sharp and ran smooth and was a load of fun. If you don't like the style of the art then that's fine and personal preference but I think a lot of people confuse graphics with art. Now it may come out and be a complete load of bollocks but so what? Is it the end of the world? No. Lets just wait until it's released before we make a judgement on how terrible it will be.

While it's not strictly Call of Duty my favourite game was Medal of Honour: Allied Assault since it was the first one I played and it's made by basically the same studio. If I had to pick an actual CoD game though, then probably CoD 2 since it was before a lot the console bollocks got added and WWII is one of my favourite settings. MW was good and I loved the bullet penetration it added but it's super spammy. I didn't play MW2 since it had no dedicated servers.

I'd almost be tempted to pick World at War but it's slightly ruined for me by the perks and abundance of explosives.

If you want to cheese the arena you can just run to the left side gate and jump up on the wall. If you get in the right spot the mobs can't hit you. You can also learn the chameleon spell and make a set of chameleon armour if you have the dlc with the mage tower and you never have to fight again.

Ah, this game is so broken but so awesome. =)

@faunt: It isn't Activision because if it were then Black Ops wouldn't have dedicated server support either.

@NoelVeiga:

1. The biggest thing for me is the false times during qualifying. You can see that in one of my videos on youtube here. At the start of the lap I'm miles behind Vettel but at the end I'm right behind him and his time is faster than mine.

2.The warning/penalty system could also be pretty bad (hmm maybe that is pretty realistic :P ).

3. During qualifying/practice some of the sector times in the timing screen wouldn't show, which was pretty annoying when trying to work out where improvments could be made.

4. Also, on the whole the difficuly level is fine but on some races like Spain and Silverstone the AI just get a lot harder for no apparent reason and it's very hard to keep up.

5. Sometimes the engine will just stop working properly and just lose drive. This isn't because of damage to the engine as there's no repair time and after pitting the problem is gone. I'm not sure if this just happens with manual gears of with automatic too.

6. You're allowed to make setup changes between qualifying and the race.

There's probably a few more that i'm forgetting but that's enough for now I think. Overall I like the game, don't get me wrong, but the amount of bugs is pretty bad especially considering the quality of Dirt 2/3. I'm a sucker for racing games though so even if there are a ton of bugs I'll probably cave in and buy it anyway.

I like F1 2010 but it has some serious flaws. I hope they work them out for 2011 otherwise I'll just skip it.

From what I played it was a very enjoyable game. It is similar to WoW but it's not exactly the same what with companions and no auto attacks etc. There are a lot of differences but probably not enough to convince you if you don't like current MMO's. You won't like it if :-

1. You don't like MMO's.

2. You don't like Star Wars.

3. You don't like Story.

If you fit one of those then stay away but for everyone else stay tuned cos it's looking pretty sweet.
