I have a crap-ton of free games installed on my machine, and they're a pretty good sample of the stuff out there, ranging from "bleah" (Soldier Front) to "yeah!" (Quake LIVE). You can't generalize - there's going to be crap, and there's going to be some gems as well, just like in the pay-to-play market.

Yup. PC really is awesome. :P

This one's got me stumped as well. 
 
EDIT: Oh man, that one is such a pain, but I found it! He's in the Mass Effect 2 credits - just power your way through it, and you'll find it eventually.

 I mean the stream they did when the beta first came out. And for the record, winning 1 out of 5 matches, and only getting that one victory because your opponent at 1up was even more busy yapping his face off than you were - that doesn't count as a particularly deft win. So no, he didn't do "pretty well". I watch that stream often enough, but it's pretty much just for a laugh - the commentary was hilarious. 
 
I'd love to play him - if he were concentrating, he'd probably be around my skill level. :\    

Took me all morning to do it, but I finished and I'm happy about it - even if nobody else gives a turd...

Grr, I still have no idea. I don't know any publishers in Seattle - Valve (with Steam and all) is the only one that comes close, and there's nobody of such grand importance there.

How could Brad be a Starcraft fanatic if he sucks?

'Course, I shouldn't talk - I'm probably worse than he is, given how long it's been since I fired up the beta...

I don't have any S-Ranks yet, but when I get Plants vs. Zombies I'll be shouting out loud with joy. That I, Zombie mode is a bitch...

Damn, I gotta keep up with the Bombcasts/I Love Monday skits/everything else this site does. I didn't know they were this funny!
