Anyone else think there ought to be a way to hide the video length (xx:xx) in the corner of the thumbnail, to not spoil whether or not they finish the game?

1000%. Abby's is a dead ringer for Jolie for most of the video and especially around 5:50, I thought I guessed it super early.. the final product did end up as a pretty perfect Robyn though!
I think this looks fantastic, Chris seems like a really awesome dude who's super excited to show off a near-finished version of something he's been working on for a significant portion of his life. Came off as enthusiastic and very eager, and didn't bother me whatsoever.
Cool to see Brad and Ben pick up on even a little of the nuance after the first couple tries, it'll be cool to see the rest of the crew hopefully try it out on a livestream.
What a stressful but amazing episode. I absolutely knew when Abomination moved into position on that penultimate turn before the bleed-out that he was going to eventually get the snipe off to kill the mind-controlling alien and win the fight. It was perfect.
I've never actually played XCOM but the way Dan played it here is pretty much exactly how I would, too. Great job.

Using that rule in the picture hides the timer of the video from the GB player for any url that contains this-is-the-run,
also I have a second one for the same url that hides
//div[contains(@class, 'js-vid-buffer')]
which hides the buffer line as well (the red line that fills in as the video plays) so that way on this is the run videos you can watch without knowing how long it is or how much is left!"

I've loved Drew ever since I started following the site right around the beginning, and even moreso with more prominent roles in some of my favourite video features... Mario Party, Flight Clubs, Metal Gear Scanlon, Halo playthroughs for Extra Life, and so many more, because the list is too long.
If you read these comments, just wanted to let you know you've really been a great role model for me as probably the most relatable staff member on my favourite website of the last decade. From listening to our shared childhood memories of Goldeneye and Halo (and constantly picking out sound effects from both games used in any other media, it still happens all the time!), to envying your humble and kind nature on-camera, which I've found myself trying to emulate in day-to-day life, because I feel like a better person when I do. You've been such a positive influence on me, this site, and judging from the rest of the comments, the community at large.
Best of luck in your travels and future projects Drew, I'll be excited to hear about whatever they are. Let me know if they ever take you up here to Toronto, it would be great to grab a beer with you and other Canadian bombers!
@d_w: Unfortunate that you and probably many others might see it that way, but I'm somebody who loves more minimal design and absolutely love the UI. Let the colourful world speak for itself, while the UI sits over top of it conveying the necessary information to the player (health, weapon information and description, etc) in a more sleek, barebones way. Any more than that often makes things look goofy and for kids.
