I'm a-ok with the lack of story, it's just that there's nothing to do really. Fly to planet, run around and collect resources, look around, go 'neat' then fly off. Every single planet is the same thing, and most of the time it seems they're not even worth exploring. The planets filled with trees and grass look quite nice though and look like they'd be more fun to explore.

You can't have massively procedurally generated universe and hand crafted story from a team of 12.

I don't go to his site or read his reviews, I just check out his videos every now and then but when I heard his site got DDoS'd after the NMS review I had to check it out, he sums up my feelings on the game perfectly. Even if you don't like him for whatever reason I'd still say give it a quick read, or just skim it.

@shiro2809: thanks but i can't trust that guy as far as i can throw him. from what ive experienced of him he reeks heavily of the angry joe and random steam forumer over reactionary types. i.e. this game is total bullshit! no grey areas.

I'd say check out the Jim Sterling review on it, I just read through it and I agree with it 100%. It's just...boring. I'd say don't bother pre-ordering (I wouldn't recommend it in general, but it seems like you're getting it regardless).

Not really, most Day 1 patches are bug fixes. The Day 1 patch for No Man Sky seems to change and add a lot, greatly expanding on the game. Having an internet connection doesn't necessarily mean you could download some patches either, what with data caps that could potentially be really low or shit speeds depending on where you live. I believe they stated on the Bombcast that they added a lot to give the game some direction and to help teach people some things which is a pretty big thing, imo.

No Man's Sky's "day one patch" is no different than every game released nowadays' day one patch. I'm sorry, but the OP is just wrong. The on disc version of the game plays fine as confirmed by plenty of people who got the game early and played before the day one patch. Yes, changes/fixes were made...just like every game released in 2016...but Brad and Alex and plenty of others had no issues playing the on disc version of the game...

I see it as a handle on the back of your head or on a camera. You push up to look down, and push down to look up. Simple as that. I used to be able to do both easily with a short time to get used to whichever method again but now I can't play with normal controls, it messes me up way to much and I always stall and have to think about what's going on when I move it. Very jarring feeling, I don't like it.

Haven't watch the video, but hasn't Blizzard explicitly said they won't be adding stealth heroes?

I love this kind of stuff, and while I'm nowhere near capable of trying to figure it out on my own I love seeing a large community try an do so. Here's a video I watched a few weeks ago that spelled out what they'd figured out so far. There's been more updates on the mystery since then, but I think it's a good starting point nonetheless.

I have right around 80 here now, and then my dad is borrowing some ps4 games so right around 100? I like my physical games.

@frostyryan: The only time I can really tell a difference is with that one gif of the balls falling at 30fps and one at 60fps. And that's only if I focus on it, and I have decent eye sight. Playing games for so many years I probably do need to get them checked though....

Because I can't really tell the difference I'm a-ok with games being at 30 or 60, it doesn't matter. As long as it's a consistent 30 at least because once it starts dropping lower to the point where even I notice it, you dun' fucked up.

I used to be 100% ok with them. I never played the original tomb raider so I'm not sure if it's the same there (or if this one was an hd version), but in Tomb Raider Legend I believe it was I was replaying it for trophies and when I got to the England level, below the museum or whatever it was you fall into a big thing of water and I just remembered the boss fight that takes place there and just thought something along the lines of 'it's just sitting down there watching me and could grab me at any moment'. Been uncomfortable if I can't see the ground/bottom of a body of water in games and out since :(

Should mention that irl really deep water always freaked me out slightly just because I have an irrational fear of giant sea monsters existing, like the Kraken or Megaladon.

I'm really enjoying the game despite being stuck on the 3rd boss, the flashing before the attack begins is really messing with my timing and making his 3rd phase wreck me all the time :(
