haha, yes it is hard to tell and that's why I think it's interesting. There were many AAA games in previous generations, and while they were popular at the time they came out, many are often forgotten about today. Some I can think of are Super Mario Sunshine, which got strong reviews when it came out, but today is seen as a weak link in the Mario series.

" None, everything's been done before. Why would you consider say, Oblivion a classic when Morrowind did a lot of it previously, or Bioshock, when System Shock 2 did it all, or eh, the countless sequels like MGS4 speak for themselves, since you can just look @ the past games as the real classics, and not the latest entry. Those who said Portal, sure, that sounds reasonable, if we see more of it, as people are, sadly, forgetting. "

I agree with this. A lot of games of this generation are purely evolutionary, simple revisions of old gameplay mechanics.

I guess the question we might ask ourselves is, "Are we going to care about these games 10-15 years from now?"

The games we answer yes to this question are seen as classics: Ocarina of Time, Half-Life, Starcraft.....just to name a random few.

What games from this generation matter?

I honestly cannot think of too many games right now, of this generation, that will be seen as classics in the future.

The closest I can think of is Resident Evil 4, and that was last generation. The reason is because it pretty much popularized the over-the-shoulder shooter gameplay that defines SO MANY games today.

Wii Sports also seems destined to become a classic, with the oncoming storm of motion control surely becoming mainstream with the announcements of Natal and PS3 motion controller. When people look back, Wii Sports will be seen as the pioneering effort.

Other than that, I'm blank. Gimme some ideas people!

This thread is for people who hate Shrek.

Shrek 1 was pretty good.

Shrek 2 was pretty bad.

Shrek the Third was worse than epic constipation.

Now, I respect those who like Shrek...but Shrek is stupid.

Oh man, definitely Sanctuary Fortress. I also love the Dark World. I know it gets a lot of heat, but for some reason I'm drawn towards the toxic nature of it.

I never played the PS2 version, but I did beat the Wii version. So I can't compare them, but I will say the Wii controls aren't perfect.

The brush controls for some reason failed to register correctly for me, like it worked about 60% of the time. Also waggling for attacking feels strange.

Overall, the game is excellent but controls were a mixed bag.

I've played Pikmin 2, its a stellar RTS game that's easy to get into and extremely addicting. A simple concept on the surface but with a ton of hidden depth. Awesome game.

Pikmin Wii would be great, since the gameplay suits the controller well.

When I don't have games to play, I do other things like read, go outside, or exercise.

Nintendo isn't the one and only source of entertainment in this world. :)

I came in here expecting Three Leaf Clover to be the favorite, and I was right.

Because it kicked ass.
